A few years ago I would have said keep 'em but now I think the Queen should be the last. Brexit and all the petty flag waving nationalism and nostalgia for the never-existed good old days has somehow caused me to resent establishment related, even though it's not really anything to do with them.

Hard to disagree but yes. I think she'll never be "bettered" as it were. People don't seem to like Charles, bar the hardcore ones and there's a general apathy to William. And those are the best ones. |

Think it should be the end, but it clearly won't. I have to say though, hearing Americans say the Platinum Jubilee celebrations are weird is quite rich given the lengths you see people go to idolising Trump and guns. I'd much rather have our brand of weirdness.

As someone who doesn't follow the royals, why do people like the Queen so much? Even here, there are people saying she's alright but the others are worthless
I thought people loved William and Kate as well, but that was probably about 10 years ago

Many countries monarchies have gracefully faded into the past, but not ours. I can't see them doing it any time soon, either. Charlie will be king (briefly) and I think you can bet your house that William and Kate have got their eyes on 50 years in the top chairs, too.
