I know I shouldn't, but I knew NeoGAF would be awash with nutters going off the deep end about this game so I took a little look.
Genuinely speechless at how just how far gone that place is at this stage.

Dual wield rogue is my go to for most things, so this pleases me. And given that Origins is something I had to really force myself to get through, preferred DA2, with Inquisition being my favourite it sounds like I'll quite enjoy this. I do wish the Remote Download button on the Steam mobile app would tell you whether a download has actually started or not. Come 4pm, I'm not going to have a clue if the button is doing anything or not. Having said that, it does have a progress bar. D'oi. |

I got banned from Gaf last week for 'trolling' - I basically called them out for their misogyny and their general intolerance to anything that doesn't confirm to their white supremacist agenda. It's a fucking sesspit. Not sure why I even bothered with that forum as I had 'ignored' most of the posters there. |

I mean I really do wonder how media illiterate these absolute melts are and how their tiny minds probably couldn't even comprehend how many of their 'favourite' games are 100% political and woke as shit.

Just as their championing of Stellar Blade was one of (several) factors that dissuaded me from buying said game, so the incels' tearful cries of, "Wah wah wah WOOOOOOKE!" have made me more inclined to give Veilguard a whirl. |

I had a little look into Asmongold after someone mentioned him (earlier in this thread I think) and he is the archetypal mum's basement dwelling dork. Lives in complete filth. There's a clip of a cockroach crawling on him during a stream (which he weirdly shows off) D:

Someone gets a bit of traction with a positive/negative post or video and the algorithm-chasers will latch on and flood everything with ever-increasing hyperbole. Even when it's not political it's crazy.

Shader compilation time on PC version startup seems to be roughly on par with that of Uncharted 4.

I remember doing that in Inquisition, and switching from ranged rogue to melee rogue.

Spent nearly an hour in the character creator. It's fantastic for creating a fresh character, and the hair is insanely good. On the other hand, I can't get my Inquisitor looking anywhere close to how she looked in DAI in facial structure or near albino skin tone, so I've just had to settle for "very light pink skin, and a metric ton of eyeliner".
Everything set to Ultra, resolution scaling set to 125%, just walking Minrathous at the start and it looks stunning.
And it lets you name your save files. I cannot understate how happy that makes me.

I'm playing on Series X, performance mode with VRR. It is really smooth.
I went with warrior, I just love me a sword and shield.
Only done the opening mission but so far my initial impressions are VERY strong.
Liking the combat so far. The graphics and animations are excellent, really top notch. Facial animations are OK, sort of suit the graphical style really.
Can't really comment much more until I have spent more time with it, but really liking it thus far.

The character creator is great. I would totally do my guy.
Mage seems quite nifty so far. The dagger and orb option is a nice twist on the usual mage combat.
The bombastic cinematic opening was so much better than Inquisitions attempt.

The dagger and orb option is a nice twist on the usual mage combat. This is how I’m playing. The range is frustrating though, you have to get very close for your basic attacks, but most of the abilities are distance. I’m assuming that a fully kitted Spellblade will rectify that issue and just make me a magic rogue, essentially, but I’m still about 5 lvls away from the specialisation. |
