In the past 48 hours, I've seen plenty of evidence to suggest that the writing in this game is pretty awful. For instance:
Let's not pretend that "Grummz" is highlighting that particular scene in good faith, though, 'cause he absolutely isn't.

I honestly don't know what people's issue with the art style for the faces is. To me it doesn't even look "stylised", it just looks like a natural outgrowth of how Inquisition looked, which is not surprising really given that it's still another iteration of the Frostbite engine.
One thing I haven't noticed anyone mention, and I don't want to jinx it before I play it in case this turns out to not be the case for the full game, but in every screenshot or video I've seen so far, it seems to me that there's a consistent level of, I dunno what you'd call it, "fidelity" maybe, across the faces of every character, be it player character, companions, named characters like Varric, and every NPC I've seen. Whereas before, you'd have had only major characters have decent, properly crafted looking faces while every NPC would look like someone hit the Randomise button on the character creator, from the previews I haven't noticed any person who just looks like "Male face 25 with mustache 17".
I mean, they could very well be generated exactly that way again, but the art style seems to lend itself to disguising that process, if that's the case.

Yasuke in AC Shadows was one thing (I'm surprised Naoe mostly escaped!) and I'm sure this BS existed before, see also Stellar Blade, but ever since Concord bombed (for many more reasons besides the "woke character designs" all those howling seem to love latching on to) it feels like it's all you hear, about every little thing!  |

I have no problem with the way the characters look, but I quite like stylised design in general. Lots of people are allergic to things that don't go for realism and/or grittiness, which is fine, but it's just like, your opinion, man.
Also, Dragon Age 1 and 2 are some butt-ugly games.

For me the clean, airbrushed, overly-sanitised look to the characters just doesn't gel well with the dark and gritty fantasy that this series used to be. But that's fine, this is the new direction they've chosen, it's not for me, and I'm not really that fussed because, while I did play and enjoy the first three games, I was never really massively invested in this series to begin with.
