I actually finished the game before starting Mass Effect 3, and managed to play the entirety of that before I could get the final trophy on Far Cry due to it being a shit one you have to wait three weeks to get.
Anyway, fucking loved it. Yes it is more of the same but when the gameplay is that good, you can see why. One criticism though is that 3 and 4 you earned XP and levelled up skills to suit your playstyle and become stronger whilst in this, you're a powerhouse from the start with no additional skills etc. I liked in 3 and 4 that hunting animals to upgrade your gear etc felt worthwhile whilst hunting in this served zero purpose.
Anyway, really enjoyed it and if 7 is more of the same you bet your arse I'm still there day one.

Overall really enjoyed, did have around 5-10 hours where I was somewhat bored, but that happens with almost any game I play. Good ending and good characters, Juan was a fav and my female Dani was great. I will spend some more time in the world, especially as I bought the Gold edition (Thank you Gamepass points!)
I did miss the skill tree and towers though, also I "wore" the same outfit for 90% of the game and used the same bullets, I did mix up the multiple weapons however. The driving and flying planes is still total shit, we were allowed to go 3rd person in camps, so I would like the option to do the same when driving or piloting a plane in the next game.

A rough start to the game, but I was hooked once the story got going properly and I'd got some decent weapons and upgrades. Could definitely have done with some editing on the story, but dealing with hordes is intense fun!

A game of two halves. The first half is good, the second half not so much. What a shame though.
Alright, that's it. Back to 52 for me this year. Last year I didn't make it, but then last year I spent several months playing Machi. There was no slow burner for me this time, aside from the usual Destiny 2.

Actually rolled credits a couple of weeks ago but wanted to do all the bonus levels before considering it finished. Excellent 3D platformer that often matches the best of Mario in inventiveness.

A big return to form after Halo 5. I enjoyed the story (well mostly!), did seem short though. Still many sides to do, which I will or won't do. I would love to give the mp a chance but I'm shite at almost all multiplayer shooters, so just end up getting frustrated and a burden to any team I'm part of.
I think I'm going to declare, I may get FC BD done before Jan though. I seem to always hit around 20-25 games every year, obviously must be my sort of pace!

Played original and it is the same game albeit a bit tarted up, I could not tell and it had some annoying audio glitches, still good fun though.

Having given up on The Gunk, I don't think I'm gonna finish any games in the next two days, so I'm stopping at 54. Not too shabby, although I did include a few short games for the achievement rewards challenge.
My GP subscription expires next year in June, and I don't know if I'll be renewing it (depends on whether the Gold trick still works by then). In that case, my number might be considerably lower. Or maybe I'll just use the chance to comb through the backlog.

A fitting way to bookend the year seeing as the main game was my first completion.
This DLC was okay but very annoying in certain sections, particularly the third island where the vertically just doesn't work with the isometric camera view.

And I imagine this will be my last title for this year. Started well but workshifts got in the way and slowed me down a lot later on in the year. Managed this last one while isolated in my room with nothing but handhelds to play. Still higher than most of my recent years.
Finally got around to playing and finishing Miles Edgeworth 2 (with fan translation which seems surprisingly well done). A lot longer than I expected for the usual 5 cases but the way it followed up from and continued the story of AAI1 worked really well. Some nice momentum on established characters, some interesting new characters and cameos here and there. Similar gameplay to the original (was the logic chess new to this or AAI1?) Enjoyed the story and characters and the translation felt pretty right. Nice swansong to the classic era Ace Attorney games. Now to decide whether to do PW5 and 6 next or the Great Ace Attorney games.
In reality I will have a break from the series first and find something else to play for my first game of next year.
Edit - beat my record of 44 so a small win there.
