Lords of The Fallen. I'm not really sure about this game, for a soulsborne like it apes so much of both series but it just feels...off somehow. I can't put my finger on it. Looks very nice and the shifting into a different world is quite cool. Oh and performance on Series X is err interesting. Make sure you close and reopen the game every now and then as it starts to fall apart after a while. Apart from that, I don't remember anything too bad with the performance on Series X
Parrying works really well if you're into that

I'll try a bit more to give it a chance but Lies of P is one of the few games where it felt like a FromSoft made the game. This just feels like it's missing something.

I was quite enjoying it and then just sort of fell off it. I had even beaten the boss that everyone said was the worst but I just don't feel like going back to it.
It's absolutely gorgeous on pc though, some of the world design is absolutely beautiful.

Freaking loved Lies of P The combat in Lords of the Fallen does feel very sticky and that doesn't go away in my experience. It feels like there are some kind of invisible forces at play, especially the way enemies launch towards you when they attack The jump is the absolute worst. Have you done the early area with all the hanging platforms that sway slightly yet? Can't believe they thought the jump was good enough for insta death platforming
The tone and visuals are ace

Lords of The Fallen. Oh and performance on Series X is err interesting. I found that closing the game altogether between gaming sessions and not letting it resume almost at all, was really beneficial to its performance all those months ago. I think the team went a bit crazy with the mobs and the particle effects plus having the other world rendered in the background, they took a hit. Having the game chug in the hub area was inexcusable though... Edit: or what AA said...

Hmmm, yeah the moment they introduced jumping in the tutorial and then I had to do some jumping later and it just felt super garbage.

Prey Really enjoying this in all but one aspect. I'm about to head to whatever G.U.T.S. is by the sound of it. The atmosphere, and gameplay utilising all available resources to avoid direct combat is fantastic. Unfortunately when it comes to actually the shooting at the aliens, the game sucks, so after getting to a bit where I kept getting killed by the buggers I started .. Upgrades to just the basic guns were extremely helpful during my playthrough. Early on they barely can do what they are supposed to do. At least not once the stronger Phantoms show up. Thanks. It definitely feels like I am shooting a peashooter that causes no reaction against the phantoms until they finally keel over. I hadn't put any neuromods into the gunplay simply because I thought I would try to avoid direct encounters. Probably will have to think again I guess

I hated the combat on PREY, even the little mimic things were one hit kills if they touched you. Never got better even with upgrades, had to drop it to Easy just to get through it
It was as difficult as, if not harder than, Ghouls and Ghosts - at least you got two hits in that

I don't remember what difficulty I beat Prey on, but I don't remember the regular Mimics being that strong. They made me panic on account of them jumping out at me, but other enemies were way more dangerous to my health bar.

I'm sure you can one shot the little ones with the pistol if undetected. A couple of close range shotgun blasts for the bigger ones. I don't remember the combat being difficult

Fwiw I agree that the combat isn't the best part of that game. Too many samey-looking smoke monsters, and by the end it was just throwing stuff at me when I wanted it to be over.
The mimics are cool, though. And the big nightmare thing that stalks you.

I've got the shotgun now so things are looking up. Though I don't like the sound of something that stalks me, ha ha.

All I really remember about Prey was the incredibly awful demo. Gave the full game a chance with feedback from the old forum and loved it in the end especially once you find the shotgun early on

Prey is fucking immense but the combat is wank.
I loved Lords of the Fallen more than Lies of P.
Thanks. More from me next week.

Once you had a few upgrades for the shotgun it was more a matter of managing engaments in most cases. Like getting their attention with a turret and then coming in from the side.
I had most trouble with Technopaths from what I remember.

Been screenshotting every piece of cheese I can find in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Don't ask me why, just something to do.
Wee little cheese miners.
