I've heard a number of positive things about it as well. Supposedly it's pretty well optimized, good visuals and atmosphere and surprisingly good writing as well. Not too surprising considering it comes from the same people that made Homefront - The Revolution. The story setup for the latter might have been silly and the plot and characters pretty typical, but visuals and atmosphere were already quite strong and the (fairly different) gameplay loop was solid. I believe the world structure is similar as well.
Perhaps I'll give it a try once it's cheaper, but it's a bit borderline for my hardware.

FOR THE EMPEROR!!
Space Marine 1 Still playing through this, but it's alternately great fun and an annoying slog. When you're on a roll and it's throwing big bombastic set pieces at you it's great, but when you're repeating a section for the 4th time because a mob you didn't see one/two hit killed you it's really annoying.
Dawn of War ONE: Soulstorm Since they gave it to me free in a lovely shiny new Anniversary Edition* I thought I would give this a go. I haven't played an RTS in years and forgot that (a) I suck at them, and (b) my dreams of being a tactical genius just devolve into sending all my units into a big melee against all their units.
DoW1 seems very micro-managey. Lots of special abilities on units with cooldowns, plus the thing of clicking a button to add additional members / special weapon members to a squad requires a lot of micro and seems like cheating.
* It doesn't actually seem to be a new edition. They've just renamed the base game, and added the all the expansions to your library if you own one already. It's a bit confusing as I initially installed the anniversary edition expecting it to contain everything, then I had to uninstall it and install Soulstorm. Plus I still needed to install a couple of mods for bug fixes and a more zoomed out camera. Oh well, nice of them anyway.

Loco Roco Remastered - astro boy has put me in the mood to replay this. Still love the music.
Little Nightmares 2 - enjoyed the first one and this looks like more of the same.
I've also got the most recent PoP but for some reason I can't muster any enthusiasm to play which is daft as the response to it has been decent.

Back on Titanfall 2 for the multiplayer.
I mean, it's still phenomenal. The feel of the game is something else and every five minutes you get to crash to earth IN A MASSIVE ROBOT and stomp on everything in site.
Expect me to say the same thing again in around 5-6 months time.

I started the Alan Wake 2 trial and was really drawn in by the Saga stuff and caved as it was on offer. Love a good Twin Peaksy murder mystery. And then almost immediately after buying it I got to the Alan stuff and boy do I want my money back, or at least Saga back.
I hope this side gets better. Generally dislike dual characters - one is always weaker but this is Halo 2 early Arbiter levels difference at the moment. Doesn't help that he is, and always has been, an absolute milquetoast.

Weird West (PS5)
Billed as an isometric immersive sim, which I thought sounded interesting. Just an hour or so in so I'm still getting to grips with it a bit. Not hugely convinced an isometric perspective works well with the type of combat and stealth options they've put into this. Will stick with it for a while longer and see if it clicks.

OxenfreeItch.io emailed me that they're removing this, so it prompted me to play it. Actually, I tried it some years back, but didn't get very far. I don't remember why, but obviously something about it didn't click back then. It's not that long, and I must have only got about 20 minutes into it the first time, which isn't really enough for even the central weirdness to start happening. I'm probably an hour in now and enjoying it quite a bit. It's mainly bantering teens on an island while weird shit starts to happen, but the atmosphere is good. Playing it late at night in the dark probably helped. I've also got the most recent PoP but for some reason I can't muster any enthusiasm to play which is daft as the response to it has been decent. The side scrolling one? I know what you mean. It's supposed to be amazing, and PoP is one of my favorite franchises, but I'm used to it being fully 3d worlds to explore at this point, and I'm finding it hard to summon any excitement for a side scrolling version. Back on Titanfall 2 for the multiplayer. I mean, it's still phenomenal. Expect me to say the same thing again in around 5-6 months time. How is the multiplayer scene, specifically for newbies? I loved the Tf2 campaign, but never tried multiplayer. I know it's supposed to be good, but I'm wondering if it's just a small community of high-level die-hard fans at this point.

There's some pros playing (and they stand out) but most of the time I find you're matched with a good mix of pros, intermediate players and newbies. I'm no expert and I usually finish mid table on the score board. Some games I'll be bottom and the (very) odd game I'll be top. Scorch for life.

I still love it but no one plays it. I do enjoy 2 but not to the same level, goes without saying the campaign is a thing of beauty. I would have loved a third but Apex fooked that

I thought Banishers was really good but far too long and too much bloat that the gameplay couldn't carry. I got fatigued by it about 20-ish hours in when I realised I was only about half way through the main story. I still haven't gone back to it. The writing, voice acting and stories it tells are really good I think you have put a hex on me. I have not played Banishers since I posted this and you replied 3 days ago lol. Strangely I was/am somewhat concerned about the length and wondering if there will be enough variety to keep me interested. As I said I am enjoying it (was enjoying it) but after 15 odd hours I do not think I am halfway through and playing this after 100+ hours on KCD, I think I wanted a 15 hour sp campaign... I might leave for a bit and then return.

Not hugely convinced an isometric perspective works well with the type of combat and stealth options they've put into this. Will stick with it for a while longer and see if it clicks. The combat early on is pretty fast and deadly and from what I remember your weapons will be a little weak for straight-up combat. Later on that problem went away, but you spend relatively little time with each character, so it could be kind of difficult to get used to each of their unique skills. I also remember that aiming throwables in the heat of combat was almost impossible. At least with the mouse.

Lost in Random is a gem, isn't it? Even the combat is getting a little better now that I've got all the cards and some decent rolls at my disposal.

Ass. creed Mirage
Borrowing off a friend, and much prefer the older style gameplay to the bloated RPG lite to see you boosters of recent games. When the game came out, some reviewers mention it didn't improve the old gameplay enough and do agree and some had a shit fit over that POV. You can have the stealth gameplay of older games but improve on the old games. They investigations for missions is step in the right direction but I think they need to go in Hitman games direction to have multiple ways to kill the target
Also would of liked to seen prince of persia sands of time setting as I liked the persian, hazy, dream like of the game

Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templars: Reforged So far gameplay was plain sailing until I got the goat. I played bs1 16 years ago so sortof remembered that you have to do something quick But forgot from which position and got frustrated that the more obvious and logical one does not work but it being a late night i didnt try the less obvious one. So read up on Wikipedia which has a dedicated page en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Goat_PuzzleIt's that silly. Otherwise I'm enjoying it immensely. It's fun how 1990s the game is. It looks beautiful, modern game looking. But the dialog, the setting you can feel it's old game. Cause those little things like talking about satellite TV, all the issue of not having a phone are normal part of 90s. They are not referenced, they just are part of the world. A modern game set in 90s will inevitably reference from time to time the period making sure you get the setting. While here they just are. And it being in gorgeous 1440p resolution creates a fun contrast.
