Jedi Survivor. Still. Kind of want it to end now.
I've been long past caring about collectible jackets and shards to gather for more frills on said jacket but the locomotion and level layout do encourage exploration for when you do find a collectible that boosts your stats.
I've 8 stim slots now and still get my ass handed to me by groups of low level enemies. Also the legendary creatures can fuck right off.

Cyberpunk, still.
I was hoping to have this done and dusted by the time Hellblade 2 rolls around so I could give that my full attention, but no such luck. Took Monday off work and just spent the day playing it with the curtains drawn like some kind of crack den.
Phantom Liberty is a fantastic expansion so far. I'm up to tier 5 gear now and absolutely rolling in money. It does get a little bit too easy (boss fights excluded) if you go all in on netrunner. Especially love it when you do a reverse hack on an enemy netrunner and send a quickhack to everybody.

Tomo I can't answer Q2, but where Q1 is concerned, I'm pretty sure you can ignore Pacts of Punishment altogether if you so choose - I beat the game (with 11 escapes), and unless I missed something major, I didn't bother with PoP at all.

Don't you only get more weapon upgrade things if you increase the heat level? In that the bosses won't drop the upgrade materials if you're just beating them at the same level again and again.

Quite possibly - I stuck with one weapon for more than half of my successful runs, and focused mainly upon upgrading that.
The other weapons didn't get much in the way of upgrades by comparison.

I don't remember. But I'm pretty sure there is value in increasing the difficulty, even if you don't need it to get to the first ending with credits.

Replay of Returnal (game of the gen) and it's still amazing. It hasn't got the same sense of discovery of finding out what to actually do but it's still such an impressive game. Killed the first boss in 1 go compared to the 5 or so on my first time playing, but it's still a tricky game early on.

The latter. It's probably a come back to this area later type thing. But I'm getting further each time, so FUCK it is.

I used the reduced difficulty option. If only actual life had that option.

But "reduced" meant invincibility, right? Instead of something that drastic I just wished it had an easy mode that halves enemy HP or something.

Phones in games should be banned, I agree. And tbh Dave The Diver is wayyy overrated. Really baffling one for me. Abandoned it last night. The glow stick idol dance dream sequence mini game was the last straw. Sure Dave dives but he spends just as much time serving sushi, tending to fish farm, picking weeds, looking at his phone, doing stupid fetch quests and now a dance rhythm game as a different character? Fuck that. None of it was good.

(re: Tunic) I managed to get to the end of the game a few months ago but before actually completing it, I found out there was an alternative ending that was very obscure, persevered for a bit and then gave up. Should have just done the normal ending. I did enjoy my time with the game but there are some proper head scratching moments.

Started Endless Legend because it was free on Steam. Pretty easy to get into, if you are used to the FIDS resource system from other Endless games. Otherwise it's pretty similar to any planet surface based 4x game (Civilization, etc.).
What I don't get yet is how to buy more heros. They are always too expensive for me. I save up the amount, and when I next look, they are suddenly 30% more expensive than last time I looked. But they aren't really higher level than before. Strange.
The setting is of course the typical Endless setting, which is basically a sci-fi setting, but in Endless Legend, it has a fantasy twist, because at least the faction that I'm playing (Vaulters) don't remember their star-spanning past and they treat tech more like magic and use a lot of low level tech like ploughs and swords.
It's fun so far and has already cost me a lot of hours last night. The usual "one more turn" syndrome kicks in hard.

Oh I loved the glow stick dance scene.
I managed to complete the game but I did find the second half became a chore. Basically when you found the village, all sense of exploration went out the window and the game was just an endless sequence of fetch quests.
It's a very well made game, but I agree it is very over-rated.
Currently playing Hellblade 2
A fantastic experience and I am enjoying it a lot, but I can see why it is decisive. You basically have to treat this like its a movie, there is not a lot of gameplay in it and what there is, is very basic.
But it really is a sensory overload. Some of the best audio and visuals in a 'game' that I have ever played.
9/10 for the 'experience'

Only halves damage. Rest is the same. Ah, just looked it up, apparently this option was added in an update at some point. At release, there was only no fail mode which made you invulnerable.

Not playing but casually watching some of my sons uncharted 4 playthrough. Even though it’s 8 years old running on a ps4: hairdryer edition it still looks amazing. Such a brilliant game it’s making me want to play it again although I’ve got plenty of stuff to be playing instead.
Can’t wait for naughty dogs next game. Unless it’s a live service multiplayer game.

I can’t stop playing Splatoon 3. I’m playing it for about an hour most evenings, sometimes longer on my days off. I’m completely hooked.
I have Pikmin 4 in its wrapper. I have Hellblade 2 on download. I still have Tomb Raider 2 and Advance Wars unfinished.
But all I want to do is play Splatoon.

Finished the first game in Endless Legend with the Vaulters. It's too easy on normal. Expansionism is best strategy, like in almost all 4X games, because you get more exotic resources from the map, which allows you to keep morale high, which increases population productivity, which gives you more of the basic resources, which allows you to expand further. If the difficulty is correct, you have to specialise and go for a single one of the multiple win conditions, but I could easily have picked any of them.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the second best AI player was "Keeper-of-eggs".
Finally went for quest victory. Because I wanted to see the whole story about how the Vaulters discover they were a space-faring race, find their old crashed ship, rebuild it and finally leave the planet.

Been playing The Messenger and I think I'm getting close to the end now. The humour is great and it plays very much like an old school platformer for the most part. There have been times where I've sworn at the game but kept playing. It's one of those games where you do need to git gud but so satisfying when you pull off a complex series of grapples and jumps. Definitely recommended to those who like a good Metroidvania (well, the second half is a Metroidvania) and a challenge.

Started Unicorn Overlord this week... Very fun game, kind of addictive to be honest!
The presentation is incredibly charming, with beautiful graphics reminiscent of both Octopath Traveler (for the environment/backgrounds) and Final Fantasy Tactics (the character sprites/artwork, especially the first Tactics/War of the Lions for the in-battle/cutscene models), and a great soundtrack as well.
The gameplay is an interesting take on the genre. The player's major input is only on tactics, with you positioning your characters in 3x2 grids called units (you can have up to 10 units of up to 6 5 characters each, although of course you start off with way less), setting up their equipment and skills and then maneuvering them within the battle maps to fight enemy units, capture positions, utilize stage features such as ballistae, watchtowers etc and ultimately accomplish each map's objectives within the time given (the time limit does stop while you're giving orders, so you don't have to rush).
The actual combat skirmishes, meanwhile, play out automatically, with your characters using their abilities according to how you set them up and the enemy's condition. If you're familiar with the Gambit system from Final Fantasy 12, it's sort of like that. For example, if a character has an ability that hits an entire row you could set them to prioritize the enemy row with the most characters, an ability that deals more damage to specific enemy types can target those types, an ability that grants extra AP (the resource you use for offensive abilities) on a kill can be aimed at the enemy with the lowest HP to increase the chances of a kill (and therefore more easily enable AP acquisition and further attacks within the skirmish), and many, many more.
While you can still have a good time without getting too deep into everything (abilities have some basic priorities set up automatically, for instance), the whole system has great depth. Unit composition and the characters' position within it both matter, as does the leader of each unit (units led by a flying character can fly above mountains, rivers etc, units led by archers or mages can provide offensive support when they're close to an ally that engages an enemy, units led by healers can provide healing support in the same way and there's more that leader choice affects), the amount of potential conditions you can give to abilities is frankly ridiculous, there's a detailed rock-paper-scissors system of class weaknesses and strengths (just as an example, gryphon riders dodge grounded classes' close range attacks easily and wreck cavalry on offense, but fall easily to arrows and don't handle magic all that well either), many structures within maps with their own effects to assist occupants (watchtowers can increase the range and effect of the aforementioned ranged supports for units that occupy them, for instance)... It's a very robust set of mechanics and all comes together very well IMO.
And I haven't even talked about the freely explorable world map (there are some roadblocks in the form of battles and/or story progress and you can't make use of town and fort facilities until you liberate them, but other than that you can pretty much go wherever), which enables even more shenanigans! How about recruiting a flying unit before the story gives you one (in addition to the big cast of named, unique units you get, forts allow you to recruit generic units, with each fort having a few specific classes, usually of the types you battled to liberate them)? If you do side content and go to the right place, you can get one and increase your tactical options early!
Overall, it's a very refreshing and enjoyable real-time strategy/tactics offering, doesn't look like it'll overstay its welcome (and since you're capable of skipping individual skirmish animations between units while on a battle map, that cuts down on potential bloat as well) and I can already tell I would very much enjoy a sequel or other game in the same style! Highly recommended, and with a demo (hopefully) still available to see if it's for you, to boot!

Still stumbling around in Tunic. I seem to be making progress but not sure how. Or why for that matter. I’ve rung the east bell, and have just got the key for the house.. I also found a graveyard, died there then could find my way back so those coins are lost.
