Just finished Mass Effect 2 on ps5, starting Yakuza 4.
Loving this, one mass effect game followed by a yakuza. Haven't enjoyed gaming this much in years.
Also playing Ace Attorney Chronicles on the switch.

Everyone's gone to the Rapture. Not playing it, just living it browsing the EG forum.

Currently flitting between FFXIV and Bloodborne. I'm determined to finish BB but really have to be in the right mood.

Advance Wars: Dark Conflict on my DS. It's alright but I prefer the earlier games. To much brown. Very doom and gloom
Also started Pokémon Heartgold today, never played a Pokémon game before and I paid a stupid amount of money for a mint copy with the Pokéwalker (I am an idiot) but it seems like fun so far
There are so many amazing DS games that I missed because I bought one in 2008 for Chinatown Wars and never played anything else on it

Me and the kiddo working our way through mario 64.
I feel like a piece of shit for not being able to take in fully how fortunate I am.
Sorry, thats a bit intense but it feels like life dream stuff (my kid is 5 and jumps up and down every time I get a star and its so amazing my brain looks at the everest emotion spike and just nopes out lol).

I'm currently playing Skyward Sword which I'm finding surprisingly good. Also trying to read House in Fata Morgana before bed. Jury's out on wether I'm enjoying my first visual novel. Outside of those two I've been hammering 51 worldwide classics with my Daughter (particularly toy baseball) and running through Sayonara Wild Hearts again because she likes it too Is SS considered to be not a very good Zelda? I skipped it originally after not liking TP but I think it's properly good. Just started the Earth Temple and love how the connecting areas are like dungeons themselves
Also playing Hollow Knight. Just got the dream nail so the game has really opened up. Incredible game and shows what you can do with a proper modern 2D art style (Nintendo, looking at you)
SS is considered fairly poor by Zelda standards but like you I'm very much enjoying it. I also briefly enjoyed hollow knight before the backtracking on death got to tedious for me personally

HADES- Game feels great to play got to the 3rd boss after a couple of hours. Starting to get very repetitive already thought that's probably the point. Not sure I can see myself playing the same few levels for the next 20 or so hours it takes to role credits. The joy comes in noticing you are improving and experimenting with weapons and boon combinations. After a while you can rip through the first two stages very quickly too which helps keep up the pace of progress as the story unfolds

Skyward Sword is one of the weakest in the series. That however is more a case of all the other games being very good as opposed to SS being bad. Finished SS last week, enjoyed it 8/10.

I am currently playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Much like the first one I like it but not as much as everyone else seems to.

Finally got around to playing Disco Elysium which I'm really enjoying and finding to be genuinely funny. Must have been a nightmare to keep track of all the branching possibilities considering the depth of the talent tree.

Glad Nintendo went back more stylised looks for Zelda after TP. Midna was cool though.
I haven't died that much on Hollow Knight to be fair. I don't really get the complaints about difficulty for HK and Axiom Verge but I am really good at games so there is that

NEO: The World Ends With You
I’m not a huge JRPG player but loved the original on DS and this captures the vibe so well. Although instead of slashing away with the stylus its all about “strategic” button mashing to time your cooldowns properly.
Hades
Haven’t had a serious run yet but I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen dicking about in the opening sections.
Life is Strange 2
Giving it another go after no feeling it originally and I’m probably going to ditch it soon. The series hangs on being able to buy into the characters and their angsty YA drama and the lead in this is so boring and his voice acting so wooden I just can’t connect. Especially after replaying Captain Spirit in between the first two episodes with its tragic, evocative and sort of magical snapshot of a damaged kid in a broken home.

Hades - been waiting for it to unlock on Game pass to finally get to play it, could of bought it on the Switch I guess...
Mario Kart Live Circuit - it's like a modern day scalextric covered in Nintendo Magic.
Apex Legends - always have to have an FPS on the go!

Just started my playthrough of the mass effect trilogy on ps5,haven't played it since the original launch when my kids were really young.
Gonna take my time and soak it in as I loved them first time around.

After months of waiting, finally snagged a PS5 yesterday - someone cancelled their pre-order - and the two games I most wanted came bundled: Demons's Souls and Returnal. I've been obsessively playing Demons's Souls since and it's pure joy: well, 9 parts joy, 1 part frustration as I try to remember how best to approach certain areas, dying stupid deaths in the process. Absolutely bloody loving it, as much as I did back then, perhaps even more: it's the best Soulsborne (fight me!). Do we have a thread yet? I'm guessing most folk have rinsed it and moved on.
Returnal will have to wait, though my son had a go for a few hours and loved it.

Just tried out the Back4Blood demo.
It was ok, very l4d, unsurprisingly. It was entertaining enough, but not sure I'd play massive amounts of it.
Definitely glad it's on game pass. Hopefully, the full game will be more engaging.

Was watching my lad play it over the weekend - the constant grunting annoyed the piss out of me. Original didn't do that if I remember right? Snagged the free FF VII upgrade - I'm going to end up playing through it again instead of starting one of the untouched JRPG's I've got sat around, I can tell. Returnal is on the 'to buy' list.

Started FF7 Remake today... Lovely graphics and soundtrack, but I just can't seem to settle on a language for it. Think I'll stick with English for now. The first boss is a bit of a wake up call after getting past everything before that by just rolling your face on the controller, then it goes back to being ridiculously easy again. Classic mode is complete and utter shit given how bad the character AI is.
Story is complete bobbins so far and the characters are OTT, but I guess that's all part of the package. I can definitely see it getting its claws into me.
Also playing Hades in short bursts. Managed a clear last night and unlocked all of the weapons (stupidly spent loads of keys at the mirror), so the real grind starts now. I'll probably lose interest soonish like I did with the PC version, but for now I'm having heaps of fun.

I beat Death's Door last night which was enjoyable enough. I've started on Persona 4 now, which is the last of my recent Steam Purchases. Always manage to get through a lot when Destiny seasons are winding up.

Definitely more grunting than I remember! Overall, though, the sound effects are stellar - and playing with a good headset really adds. Right now I'm spitting blood trying to get to the boss in 4-2 / the Ritual Path. I forgot it's easy to hate the damn game when you're heads not in it.

Quite enjoying Xevious from 1982 Namco. A top down scrolling shooter. Only because I can save the game, I'd have launched it out of the window with just 3 lives.

I spent all last night just throwing PS4 shit on the PS5 and marvelling that most of it now runs flawlessly. I fired Driveclub back up, it still looks absolutely glorious and I was absolutely useless at it.I think I'm going to hold off on starting TLoU2, can't imagine that not getting a PS5 patch?

marcp - it got a basic 60 FPS patch. It sounds like it might get some extra love when factions comes out, so up to you to see if you want to hold off for that or not. I jumped in before the patch and still loved it (well, eventually. Didn't click with it at all at first), and it already looked fantastic at 30, so I'd say just jump in now.

Yeah don't hold off on TLOU2 on that account. With the 60fps patch it looks and plays beautifully on PS5. It genuinely looks like it is a PS5 game anyway, not originally on PS4. It's a stunning looking game.

Just completed Rain (PS3) - such a beautiful game and very charming, but also felt a little too long and man I hate the way they did the ending... I felt a lot for the characters throughout the game, but then nothing at the end.
It’s a game I can’t see a single mention of here (even after searching) but it gave me big ICO/Brothers vibes for those who enjoy those sort of games

Just started Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.
It's definitely more up my alley than the first game, but the controls are very... floaty? I dunno, but it's no DKC.

Impossible Lair is a good game and the controls do become more natural. Although even after completing it I was never confident doing the roll -> jump transition. Particularly when the roll is off the side of a platform. (The game also compares poorly against Tropical Freeze but then TF is excellent).

I quite enjoyed the first one, ended up a bit too sprawling by the last third, but found it solid up until then. Played the demo for this, and as you say, way too imprecise with the controls for me. I fired up the Xbox last night to find that Garou: Mark of the Wolves was free, which was nice. Darksiders 3 should keep my lad entertained for a bit as well.
