To all who asked. The regular was a loot drop just outside New Atlantis - a research center I think overrun by bandits. I was only Level 5 and the others were 10-14ish. Wandering outside the city limits can have its surprises.

I'm slowly working out how the starmap mechanics and it's becoming less of a barrier and more ooh what's over here. I've been back home and its changed loads. Now up to level 3 scanning and built my first ever outpost. I say outpost it's just a solar panel, beacon and a miner for clorasomething. Im sure I'll forget it's there. Finally, i've have discovered a Zero G casino. Man I enjoyed that fight as we floated all over firing laz0rs. Again with the contraband though as I found the jackpot combination and robbed the vault 😄 |

Already been busted for contraband and enlisted by some twat for anti-pirate shenanigans.
Fair enough, but how do i get contraband under their noses? Need a special ship/compartment? I have found some others, but had to leave it behind. 🙁

You need a shielded cargo module to smuggle undetected. Even then, I think it only gives you a 59% chance at best to not get caught by the fuzz, so get ready to reload a few times until they let you through!

I have found some others, but had to leave it behind. 🙁 Found a UC station with no ships scanning outside and a trader contact onboard (Wolf system) . Only issue is you sometimes have to launder money through buying stuff to sell all the contraband you've got. |

Im in the minority here, but I'm running around lost and dying because I have no idea how to play the game lol. The very first mission I'm raiding the pirate base and I have no idea how to change weapon. I ran out of bullets on the pistol and was essentially beaten to death by the first two pirates I saw.:/

Weapon changing is a bit unintuitive. I don’t see any sort of weapon wheel, so I’ve been doing it the old Skyrim way of going into my inventory every time.

Nah. I mean you can sell them, but they’re not worth much.
Books and datapads fill in the lore. Make sure to get digipicks and food though.

I only have a few hours myself, but am an old hand at Bethesda RPGs. I started by picking up EVERYTHING in the first area, but am now limiting it to special/powerful/valuable items, crafting resources, ammo, healing supplies, recordings/datapads, stat comics, credsticks and digipicks. |

Played a few hours and it's just not grabbed me. I guess there's a lot more I haven't yet seen but if a game doesn't hook me it's hard for me to really care, so I'll probably just fall away from this very soon.

Took a few hours to really grab me. Once you start ignoring the main story and doing some exploring it really opens up. My last quest ended with me having to escape a ship as it was blowing up and then getting into a massive space battle before going terminator on an base |

Yeah, i took about 5hrs or so to really get into it.
It's a slow burn & there's a lot to take in.
FO3 & Skyrim were much quicker to bite for me too, but i'm enjoying it now. Slowly getting up to speed on space combat and the navigation too. Which is good!

I'm 5 hours in and think I like it. Hard to tell. It's so uneven.
I got very invested in stealing a package for a bar owner in New Atlantis - her dialogue was fun. Then a little later I did two literal fetch quests in quick succession for Guillaume and for UCSEC. Totally dull.
I think it definitely looks better than FO4. Again, it's uneven. Some bits are really nice and others just a bit meh. Cyberpunk is vastly better looking and that's a 2 year old game now. And CP highlights how a seamless environment adds to the immersion. In this, New Atlantis looks enormous when you first arrive. Then I realised it's set dressing and basically several sections with lots of loading screens separating them. The individual areas aren't even that big tbh.
I _really_ hope they can ditch most of the loading screens for Elder Scrolls 6.

The outdoor bits of New Atlantis do actually all join up. You can walk between them if you want (with a bit of jumping). The train thing is just fast travel.

I've just been doing main quest stuff at the moment, can't tear myself away from it. Got Andreja as my companion now and she's more my style. Figured out what these trait things are on planets tonight as I found a couple and they populated the empty circles on my starmap. Now I understand the planetary research mission requirements. I'm currently wandering around a planet tracking something using the scanner but walking in the direction of interference. I didn't understand it at first so was just walk8ng to the POIs before it finally clicked. I've got Hypothermia stage 3, Lung damage and something else for my troubles cos I've been outside so long in the cold. I've just become crippled a d now showing Pain. I might die but I'm going to push on and then get back to the ship for some r&r. Ooh I also found a dude on the ground who needed help. after getting him all the way back to his ship it took me all my might not to just off him a d steal his shit. It's bigger than mine |

I haven't really engaged with the main quest in days, as I've been busy either exploring, or working my way up the ladder at Ryujin Industries. Corporate espionage and sabotage are right up my "Gentlemen Thief" persona.
Oddly, you'd think Sam would dislike me undertaking such jobs, but he doesn't seem to give a shit.
Masako Imada is the best dressed person I've seen in the game so far. All of the Ryujin themed clothing is rather nice, apart from the suit they gifted me which everyone keeps complimenting me on, when in reality it is an asymmetrical nightmare that Jake Sisko wouldn't be caught dead in.

Only a few hours in, but I gave up my last session after an hour or so as I just couldn't be arsed playing more of it. Hot weather probably isn't helping. I might give it a bash on PC when it cools down a bit in a few days. |

Spent a few days now exploring Mars and more or less seen the majority of it now… it’s huge and just 1 planet. Going to have to seriously start cutting back on next planets exploring as it’s just too time consuming even if it’s fun and moorish!
