The impression I get about BG3 is that it’s Divinity Original Sin, with a D&D skin. Which in itself is fine, but I wouldn’t call that boundary pushing either. I really doubt it would be the mega smash hit that it is if you were right. They must have made serious strides from DOS for it to appeal to so many people. I've played and love both, and this is a pretty good description of it tbh. BG3 is more dense and better written but it's very much in the same mould. Even in terms of some characters and plot. |

I did not realise the 'upgrade' included access to the future DLC too: Shattered Space Story Expansion. Can't quite figure out why it requires an extra 15GB on PC.

I also feel he would loosen up a bit should he meet a lady friend.
If any modders could create a Vasco dating mod where he can cruise the scene. Maybe share some electrical current with a cash machine or the like that would be appreciated.
If BG3 can do Unicorn love then surely…

once you get the Space Dragon Shouts combat becomes rather easy. Spam the anti grav and headshot with a shotgun. I took out a level 64 bounty in about 20 seconds. |

I've moved on from the immersion complaints and now wonder why with such an incredible skill tree they're so fucking miserly with xp.
I really enjoyed where the vanguard questline takes you but paused it to do a quest which gives a new ship because I am so done with that first piece of shit you get.

(Yes I know there's a hide helmet option)

NPCs were still giving me comments like "Nice spacesuit" and "You know you don't need a helmet here, right?" even with that toggled, so... yeah.

Hmm. Getting repeatedly ganked by 3 lvl 12 pirates. Get destroyed in about 10seconds. Over and over. It's taken me a while to get my head around the space combat but it's quite good once you do. Assume you know about ship parts as they are essential? I always try and carry at least three. You might need to park the mission and go upgrade your shields and weaponry (which probably means getting a bigger reactor too). Oh and another thing that isn't really explained anywhere. The difficulty/danger level of a system is in the top left of the map. You can go to any system at any point but expect to get annihilated if you are well below the system level. |

Sooo here I am still playing. Let's be honest of the small area I've sampled, it looks fucking ace. Just feels lived in.
Just arrived on Kreet and the only niggle I have so far is that I don't feel like it's been at my own pace, feels rushed.
This happened, now go here and talk, now this, resolve that. Now go there. Flown before? No? Ok do this, adjust this, shoot them, heal up. Right, now go here. Now press this to scan, now go here.

Was going to play some Street Fighter but the first thing that popped up when I turned on the Xbox was a bug Starfield splash page. I’m going to space, boys!
oh and as for the HDR discussion from a million pages ago, it does run in HDR, as my TV switched to it, and pressing the Xbox Guide button doesn’t say Auto HDR like is the case when it’s faked. But it’s true that there’s no in-game sliders. As long as it uses the system HDR settings and looks good doing it, I’m content.
and last bit before I continue, you can tell it’s the old Creation Engine that runs their older games, but it looks well above Fallout 4, and probably the absolute furthest they can stretch this engine. Looks good.

They really could’ve explained the lockpicking a bit better. I wasted two digipicks, not knowing I’m meant to move the right stick to choose between the different lock rings. I thought I was supposed to match them somehow.

The FPS is a bit squirrelly and it peaks and troughs like mad but so far hasn't dropped sub 60.
There is no option for 3480x1600 res only 3480x1440 and I can't change it unless i set it to windowed as the selector is greyed out, then I have to uncheck windowed otherwise I get a window.

This was in a level 1 system 😂 Finally managed to get lucky and buy enough time to shuffle my power levels, and stay out of trouble long enough to get locked on. It did not help I had just warped to a system and they immediately did the same |
