The impression I get about BG3 is that it’s Divinity Original Sin, with a D&D skin. Which in itself is fine, but I wouldn’t call that boundary pushing either. It's got loads of sex bits, some with animals

I like to think that's due to the RPS presence on the team. *so proud*

I have BG3 on the PS5 to play also, so looking forward to that.
I knew Starfield would be easier to get into, which is why I decided to play it first. As much as I am looking forward to playing BG3, I am apprehensive that all the systems and general design may not gel with me. Having never played that type of game before it's all a bit of an unknown.
Got to finish Starfield first, so will probably be playing BG3 sometime in 2025! Hopefully get it done before Elder Scrolls 6 comes out.

I was hailed by a ship last night. Turns out my ships insurance had expired and this very nice man had a new insurance policy to sell me.
Tried blowing him to smithereens but he managed to jump into hyperspace as I powered up my ships weapons.
Game is always throwing something new and interesting at you. Definitely got the Bethesda magic, even if it is showing its age.

I have seen a few posters on social media posting bugs and glitches they have found. The thing they all have in common is that they are playing on the PC. As an Series X player, I haven't encountered any of the bugs that they have. It makes me wonder if it is PC specific, perhaps outdated drivers or were playing on an un-patched build.
There is some jank for sure. The biggest issue I have experienced is NPC pathing issues, they walk into you when in conversation and they cannot get past. But there is nothing game breaking at the moment ruining my enjoyment. It certainly is true that this is the most polished Bethesda game at launch, although the bar was set low to begin with. I expect Starfield benefited from Microsoft allowing Bethesda the time they needed to get it into shape.

I think you're probably just lucky. I've fallen through the floor in combat in the first mission that Sarah (?) tags along on. Got into the fight in the building, ran into a room to take cover and got stuck in a loop of falling through the floor into a void.

I got shot through a door once, and I’m suspicious that the annoying behavior of a flying creature I saw on one planet can’t have been what they intended. But apart from that and the aforementioned NPC pathing issues, no real bugs on Series X. It’s absolute night and day compared their earlier games.
Edit- I forgot, also every item I carefully placed on a shelf in my room was clipped 3 inches downwards when I came back. It made my insect paperweight look better to be fair, like I’d captured it under a glass myself.

Yeah for a game this size it's just a matter of time until you see a bug.

I'm really enjoying this now. I've done a few Constellation missions which have helped ground everything a bit more.
After needing more cargo capacity I upgraded the starter ship which meant I needed to upgrade the engine as well. Then did a mission that involved space combat and I realised I needed to upgrade my shields and weapons too, so I've just started to figure out the ship building. It's actually very cool.
I now have a strong urge to build a huge mothership as a mobile base of operations and also an agile fighter/smuggling runner.
Suddenly I need lots of cash...

I wouldn't say it's any buggier (so far) than the usual open world tomfoolery, and it's certainly in better shape than previous Bethsesda shitshows.
That said, I'm one of the heathens who played through the likes of AC Unity on launch and thought it was absolutely fine whilst the internet shat itself, so what do I know.

Impressively, I’ve only seen one real glitch and that was when I threw a grenade into a room with some gas canisters and wandered in after to see one guy had been blown through the ceiling so his legs were just dangling down. Was actually quite effective.
Other than that it’s been weirdly stable.

After a fairly lacklustre start, once I got into a few constellation missions and temporarily ignored most side missions it's now become fantastic.
My one sidetrack to the Moon had me take on a pirate base and a fairly epic battle ensued. Playing on hard and the enemies are fairly beefy to take down meaning conservation of ammo is necessary. The pirate base was very detailed, had some good loot and there were multiple options to infiltrate stealthily and turn robots against them etc.
Just need the time to hammer this. Can't wait for this evening.

It really does get its hooks into you once it gets going.
I also played around with the ship builder last night. I never bothered in Fallout 4 with the base building, I usually hate all this building stuff. However, I am really enjoying it in Starfield, it was all very intuitive and easy to do. Its also super cool that you actually get to explore and pilot around your creation.
But yes, you do need lots of money. I upgraded my guns and my storage, but I don't really have enough power yet to get all the systems fully powered, I normally have to compromise elsewhere.
The gameplay loop here is highly addictive.

How many squad members can you have? And if you recruit one in place of another does the original go somewhere else for you to get the back of you want.

I think they just stay on your ship. Whilst I’ve only got 4 official crew slots on my ship at the moment, it’s a right old party in there, as there are about 9 people hanging around in total.

Also make sure you actually ask them. I thought I did with one then an optional quest popped up after the conversation finished so I had to ask them again for it to register.
I've left some poor sod on a wrecked ship cause I thought I had recruited him.
