One thing that always concerned me when watching the previews was how barren the landscapes looked.
Luckily, the ACG review soon alleviated those concerns. His video shows and talks about lots of places to explore, like you would expect from the makers of Skyrim.
I was most excited to hear though that it has great combat.
I have now cancelled all plans this weekend. My body is ready.

I just remembered that GamePass Ultimate includes PC GamePass too. I’m so used to just playing on the Xbox so it never crossed my mind.
I’d prefer to play it in 4K on the TV but maybe I’ll just load it up on the laptop and not worry about deleting shit on the console.
I haven’t been excited for video games much this year, but it’s really hitting me as this nears its release.

I look forward to you rinsing through it in 3 days. That's the old me. The new me still only has a few hours in the latest Zelda, lots of unplayed installed games. Currently only occasionally play hunt showdown. I do have this installed though but I imagine it won't be completed for a long time. |

One of the Skyrim modlists i mess about with has 1,004 enabled mods and 251 out of 254 ESP&ESL slots used.
I can add 3 mods of my own or i have to start merging mods to add more than that.
It's 245GB installed.
Modders be insane, shit's crazy.

Watching that ACG video, and it does look pretty cool. Here's hoping that for ES6 that just use Unreal Engine though. I still can't believe that in 2023 Bethesda have barely managed to equal the quality of facial animations that Valve managed in 2004.

I'm mainly disappointed at the loading between areas or when opening some doors. Fade to black? FFS!  Ironically it's something the PS5's faster drive would probably have smooshed to irrelevance. Considering the actual differences in loading between PS5 and XSX versions of games is usually .5ms, I really doubt it’d make any difference here. You underestimate my impatience. |

Hmmm, I was initially going to skip this, at least for a while, given the usual Bethesda jank. But the stars are somewhat aligning now, hilariously. My better half is going to be away with work from next Thursday (general release is the 6th, yeah?) to the following Wednesday; and I've just finished a big work project and have quite a bit of leeway before beginning the next ...
Now having flashbacks of eighteen-year-old me pulling 17-hour sessions on Morrowind when it released lol

Sounds about where I thought it would be; a game still hamstrung by old Bethesda hangups that is otherwise a very good RPG. Not worth buying a console specifically to play but one I'm definitely looking forward to trying somewhere down the line when I can. I'm sure most people looking forward to it won't be disappointed. It’ll be years before I could consider buying a console to play it, by which time you could expect Bethesda / Paid Mods Club will have filled in a lot of those sparse content planets with extra dungeons and houses to purchase. I remember with Skyrim that they weren’t just patching the plethora of bugs for years, but tossing in a little content update as well, in alignment with their study of Minecraft’s model. |

Reading the reviews it sounds like absolute dogshit frankly. Like a worse, bloated version of Fallout. And yet I'm still intrigued. Will deffo give it a whirl on Gamepass.

Having read the PC Gamer review I'm sticking with my pass. If someone who is enthusiastic about Fallout 4 thinks its kinda eh, I will definitely find it awful as Fallout 4 was soooo dull.

I just read the Polygon review, and it doesn’t even HAVE a score, so I’m wondering if that has any implication for the conspiracy behind Eurogamer being blocked for score reasons.
Wasn’t there something years ago about Eurogamer being blacklisted by some major publisher or developer?

It's possible to uninstall the individual games you don't play in the MCC, and you can even select the SP or MP component to install/uninstall. The menu system is horrific, but if you search around you'll find the option eventually. |

DF say it isn't broken. It looks very nice, but the idea it's just a Bethesda RPG in space puts me off a bit.
