Although weighted inventory can get fucked. Hate that.

I ended up buying it on steam for the mod support. One of the first things I fuck off in any RPG is carry weight limitations.

Did later BethRPGs ever manage to do seamless movement from outside to inside? iirc up as far as Morrowind you still had a loading bar each time you went inside.

As long as that sweet door animation is playing over the top of it I’ll never get bored.

Talking about mods, I guess we might get VR support at some point?

I guess at least they can use 'airlocks' as an excuse this time.

Expecting weak AI due to past Bethesda games and at the end of the day it’s an rpg foremost so not a dealbreaker.
Waiting on Series S performance reviews before pulling the trigger…

Encumbrance is balancing though isn't it? They may well have got it wrong and need to tweak in a patch but managing your inventory has always been part of RPGs and I don't mind it. It forces you to prioritise and make decisions. So long as you are also provided with the necessary information to make those decisions with it can be a good thing. It also gives you a gameplay reason to have a base or ship for storage.
Admittedly I can't stand it when RPGs do the thing of going "btw, you know that innocuous looking spoon you dropped about 7hrs ago, well you need that now".
It's been a long time since that happened to me in a game though. From Software love that sort of thing but at least I know not to trust them.

Plus with inventory management in Bethesda rpgs given you can pickup most of everything your 200hr to finish game time would be 60% picking stuff up then selling it again and after a few hrs… that’s just not fun… get on with playing the game instead
As a mild ocd person I appreciate some reasonable limitation!

As long as there’s a Space Mudcrab who has 10,000 Moon Credits that refresh every 24hrs, I’ll accept a weight limit.

I haven't played fallout 76 but FO4s loading was/is still horrendous. I recently played it and it requires a mod to unlock the fps during loads otherwise it takes over a minute to get into small dead end cellars. With the mod, practically instant.

Given that Fallout 4 had your perks for fast travelling and running while over encumbered, I'd be surprised if Starfield didn't as well. Plus you'll have your ship for cargo storage, and eventually outposts.
Weightless inventory mod will still be one of the first on my wishlist though, alongside a tree replacer for New Atlantis, if the scaled-up bonsai tree looking ones seen in the gameplay trailers are the final version.

Storage and encumbrance in Beth games has always been wierd. My character is literally carrying a supermarket on their back but pick up that one extra box of dandy apples and suddenly, overweight.
However, all that shit and infinitely more can fit inside a shoebox you keep under the bed in your hideout

I’ve always just assumed the Oz Dollar is one of those comedy currencies where there’s around 7000 to the Pound, and everyone drives around with a Ute full of it.

Do they still tutorialise in these games, because I have no idea about classes and stuff like encumbrance?

Do they still tutorialise in these games, because I have no idea about classes and stuff like encumbrance? Encumbrance is easy enough. At some point you'll try to pick something up and will get a message saying you can't because you're carrying too much, or you will be able to, but suddenly you move incredibly slowly.

Hopefully they up the realism and your character puts their lower back out and can’t stand up straight for 2 weeks. So you spend your time walking around looking at the floor or supporting yourself on nearby rocks and railings.

I think everything will be explained well enough when you first encounter it, but whether it's designed for tired old farts who tend to put games down for weeks sometimes before picking them up again and therefore have no recollection of the plot or mechanics is another thing entirely...
