I am intrigued by this scenario (not the backdoor kicking) now though. If a guy is taking the piss quite nastily out of your missus for whatever reason, she gets upset, as women do, she might have a cry and fountains of tears start spraying up into the air like in a Tex Avery cartoon, you have a word with the guy, he tells you to fuck off and your mum's a slag etc, the consensus in here is that you wouldn't have a poke at him? You'd just skulk away? How much would it take? Unless I'm very much overmatched (I'm not a complete fucking idiot) I'd show the gentleman the error of his ways, what. Depends. Have I been drinking in this scenario? If no, then I would get VERY shouty, and there would be quite a bit of hand waving. I would keep my distance of course. If he decided to have a pop at me I'd take the punch and continue being shouty and hand wavy until he either knocks me out or gets bored. If yes, then see above. That's how most of my fights in school went. I'm not afraid of having the shit kicked out me but I'm terrible at going on the offensive to the point where I don't think I ever attempt a punch as I know it's a waste of time. I do shout very loudly however and according to the mrs get "increasingly more Glaswegian and scary" when I do. Make of that what you will. I normally hope to scare people away before it gets down to brass tacks. I'm basically all mouth and no trousers. |
