I still use them far more than I should, mostly as I often encounter excess delivery charges from other sites to where I live, so choice can be narrowed quite a lot. I try to stick to branded stuff though, and do get frustrated in having to double check sellers etc.

I nearly ordered a pair of jeans from there earlier, from an Amazon Marketplace seller that I'd bought the same pair from at some point last year. I wanted a second pair because I always tend to end up buying multiples of the same thing eventually. The first time I bought them, they were twenty quid, with a delivery charge of just under a fiver. This time, the price had gone up to twenty five quid, which is not unexpected because bloody everything has gone up over the last year.
Got to the basket page, and it calculated the total as sixty five quid. Twenty five for the jeans, and a forty fucking quid delivery charge. From a seller located in Barnsley, delivering to me in South Wales. Never hit Cancel on anything so fast in my life. Price gouging fucks me right off.

As someone with some insight as a marketplace seller I think I know what they've done there. It's possible they're on holiday.

Eying an LG C3 once again. Missed out on it last Prime and decided not to bother as my current Sony xf9005 was good enough. OLED 120hz at 4k with variable refresh rate though...

Assume it's the same old shit in the Prime sale? Yep mostly. I am weighing up getting an Instant Pot though... We cook a lot of veg curries and daals and wondering if this is an easier way of tackling the world of dried pulses. Firmly hit middle age.

In a similar vein, found an air fryer that is better suited to our kitchen. High rather than wide. This is also in no way linked to finally having a smart meter and seeing HOW FUCKING MUCH it costs to cook beige kids food or a jacket potato.

I think you'd find it useful but I can't vouch for the lentil part.

Loads of them on eBay, so I might just hover there and try to get one dirt cheap.

Amazon has been my worklife for the past eight years, so I have a very big love hate relationship with everything about them. At the moment I really wish more and more people shopped locally, supporting their local high streets and shops instead and reducing the amount of fucking deliveries to home, but it's so convenient to use the big evil website. Also, I wouldn't have a job being part of the problem (DSP advertising) so I also have a good level of internal hatred over my life choices.
On a handy tip for you all to check if deals are actually good use CamelCamelCamel (gives the historical pricing data of the product you're looking at).

I've purchased more things today on Amazon than I did all last year.
So far I've purchased the Tom and Jerry DVD collection, its been cheaper before but short of Amazon selling a time machine its the best its been. Wacky races just because I thought the little one might like it (I did) and I'm sick of baby shark, Bing and fecking Baby Jake on iplayer.
Some tattoo cream for the wife and she wanted to get the book the tiger who came for tea. Ugreen HDD enclosures for a couple of old drives stuck in my old PC and some 2.5 drives I seem to have collected. INIU car charger and usb C cable.
May also look at a wall charger and 4k fire TV stick but the max hasn't been reduced in price.

Not related to prime sale, but I wanted a bunch of little stuff from amazon, so I saved it all up to order it together and get it over the minimum free shipping price. So it was about 9 things in total.
So they sent 8 things in one box, which arrived fine, and then another one small thing worth about 4 quid on its own, which came while we were busy, so now we have to arrange to to have it redelivered. Which will probably cost them more than the value of the item in wages/petrol. Dumb system.
---
PS/ If you are a prime member, I happened to notice than amazon uk has ~15% discounts on Odeon/Vue gift cards. Wonder if those are worth grabbing for cinema goers in the uk?

You mean Amazon drivers round your way *don't* just abandon your purchases on your doorstep regardless of whether you're in or not?
I genuinely can't remember the last time I even got to the door before the Amazon van had already fucked off!
I could be on the moon, they'd still just dump shite on my doorstep and leg it.

There was definitely a day when deliveries became very different in this country. Can't remember the last time I had a note through my door saying "Sorry We Missed You, come to the fucking arse end of nowhere to collect your parcel in the next 2 days or we'll incinerate it."

There was a period of maybe 6 months where they always waited at the door until you answered. These days they're usually driving off at 60Mph by the time I get to the door.

Seemed to be Covid that it all changed and gave every delivery driver permission to leave your parcel on the doorstep in the rain. Seems to vary here, some wait till you answer the door, some just leave it in the rain without knocking and some do the cursory knock and leg it.
