dfunkedWell, full disclosure, one has been published already a wee while ago but I never posted because I'm quite embarrassed of it as it's quite an old story and I really don't think it's great. Makes me sound picky, and I'm really grateful it was selected and I'm just happy to have it published but...yeah. The press pumps out loads of anthologies like this one and I don't think they probably sell much and they're maybe not picky in the first place. I actually think it's a shit and really derivative story reading it back now but hey ho. Here it is (I may well remove this as everyone will now know MY REAL NAME): It's The Death of Art - in here anyway:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dead-Unleashed-Anthology-ebook/dp/B09KNKTW77
The other one underwent a more thorough editing process and is a new story (I think / hope that I'm a much better writer now so it's something I'm more proud of) but I don't have an ETA for it yet. It's not too far away though. It's a small Canadian publisher called Eerie River and it's part of an anthology they are putting out called Earth. I'm awaiting on responses from a few others as well but I've decided to get stuck into this novel in the meantime as that's where my real ambition lies. I think I'd love to just finish it first, then see if I can do anything with it. Anyway. I'm just an amateur hack but fuck it, may as well try right?

Vortex - hah, yep! From fast asleep to wide awake in a split second. "Is she on the carpet or wooden floor?... Fuck! Carpet." Always carpet. I think they like to dig the claws in for traction while trying to back away from whatever is coming up. It's never an easy wipe clean situation. π’

Can't believe you used your real name, what with your record.

I hoovered the flat, hoovered and cleaned some external blinds, went shopping , washed the car and a load of other chores . Shortly I will be sipping wine and eating in the balcony as a reward as itβs 28 and sunny right now.

Normally I'm not up this early before others and have one lovingly prepared when I wake up by those who are awake. Plus it's my birthday so no idea why people aren't up at 6 in preparation to begin with. Have a coffee now though so all good.

Good stuff.
After a failed attempt in half term, finally got breakfast and paddle-boarding down the beach. It was aces, a distinct lack of drama and shouting. Which made a change from yesterday afternoon, where that's all that happened.

Mowed the lawn for the first time in around 6 months⦠, bought some new garden furniture and now warming up the BBQ and sitting in one of my new chairs with a beer. Winner.

Took my PC apart and put it back together again, did a bit of cable management under my desk by mounting a cage to the underside of it, reinstalled all programs on my Surface after a complete factory reset yesterday, did a Tesco run to buy bacon, sat back and admired my handiwork with a sarnie.

Which made a change from yesterday afternoon, where that's all that happened. Nice one. I had a paddle tonight, far too choppy in the water to do to much standing, so I was using it like a kayak for most of the session and pissed about in the waves, a lot of fun. I love paddleboarding so much that I'm planning on getting a second that is specific for surfing on. I bodyboard too (though not as much as I'd like) and bought one for my five year old daughter so she can catch the bug too π

ecosse yeah, generally referred to as SUPs. It's good fun. mikeck first time we'd managed to get out this year. Only got a cheapo one but quite impressed for the price (Β£150!). Nowhere near as good as others I've tried (more unstable mostly) but beggars can't be choosers, and given I mostly only use my knees (crap knees making it hard to actually get up) I was quite surprised. Was chuffed that the boy (12) has got the hang of it though, last year he couldn't master it which led to lots of tears. Also looking to get a kayak, as my daughter (9) won't be able to use it independently for yonks. Keeping my eyes peeled for a 2nd hand one.
