Thanks Dougs, she's getting there. Still very swollen, but the antibiotics are working, the redness has gone so we've avoided infection (so far) which is great news.

Ordered a phone upgrade from mobiles.co.uk (apparently a Currys subsidiary). Seemed like an ok deal, 2 years, 26 quid a month for a Galaxy S23 and 50GB data.
Confirmation email arrives, saying the model I want is out of stock, but not to worry, more is arriving on 23 August 2023.
30 minutes with a chatbot and it confirms they have no idea if they've even placed an order for more stock. Please call the team to cancel your order.
15 minutes on hold to get through to general queries (it was the only option that had any relevance), who put me through to Sales.
Automated "Too many calls today mate fuck off ring us later" message and the line goes dead.
Three further attempts, same outcome.
I am beginning to loSE MY FUCKING RAG!

Also, I think 23 August 2023 has already gone past.

Fair. But I only noticed this while rooting through the website to try to contact them.

I ordered my pixel from a mobiles.co.uk deal. Had an absolute ballache sending it back to be repaired, and they eventually just refused to acknowledge that there was an issue with it. Sent it off to Google instead and it was sorted in a couple of days (wish I'd just done that to begin with)
On the plus side I cancelled my contract a few months early and Vodafone refunded me a decent chunk of cash when I should've been paying them an early cancellation fee instead. Clearly some kind of fuck up with billing between the two parties, but I'm not about to complain... Think I'll stick to buying upfront in the future, as they were a rubbish middleman to deal with.

Did you not read any reviews? uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.mobiles.co.uk?stars=1I would go all out and get it cancelled, I bought an item from Currys just before Christmas as no one else in the UK had stock, I knew they were shit and it was a Xmas present but I thought I'd take a punt! Oh brother it went wrong after about 3 days and it was an absolute a nightmare getting a refund, three separate trips to different stores to return it, failed couriers to collect it, eventually I drove 30 odd miles to drop it off at a DPD depot, the call centre have different information compared to shop staff, the website has out of date info regarding returns, I could go on, take a look at the Currys Facebook page, it is astonishing and makes the reviews in the link above look good, comments on the mobiles.co.uk Facebook page, whilst less in number are no better.

Sawed up some cherry tree wood into 20cm pieces.
It was important to do so.

Had a very late poker game at mine on Friday, which went into Saturday morning, managed to finish by 3am and then I did my best to be an able parent on Saturday.
The wife, kiddo and I had a circus visit which led to my having to drop them off first and spend far too long driving round and round car parks (forgot Plymouth had a home football game, so didn't leave early enough). With little sleep and still hungover I can't believe I didn't lose my rag as I went round and round the same car spots hunting for an elusive space. Managed to eventually get one and only miss about 15 minutes of the show.
This particular circus was the touring Circus Vegas, and fuck me some of the acts were very impressive indeed. Loads of high wire antics, people being flung around in the air, fire and then to top it all off motorbikes in a wire cage ball. Not sure how my head survived, and the fumes nearly topped me off, but that was incredible.
Highly recommended, I wasn't looking forward to it at all, but seeing my daughters delight throughout was lovely (and I was very impressed too).

Faced with some free time, dry weather, scrap angle iron, and a desire to practice welding I set fire to my armpit:
... and eventually made a.... thing... only accompanied by minor additional fires:
Welding isn't actually too bad now although getting accurate repeatable cuts with an angle grinder has never been my forte and fire safety still needs some practice

It's all the prep that I really hate, the actual decorating bit isn't so bad but all the shifting furniture around, masking up, dust sheets etc etc - ugh!

Way late to the party on this but yeah a proper circus is an amazing spectacle. In a way that the odd act on BGT just doesn’t get across. Saw the Cirque du Soleil (spelling?) a few years back and not only were the feats amazing, they assembled an all girl rock band and a quite metal score for it and the sound engineering was too notch. No lions though.

I've changed a very dark room to a light one, so ultimately worthwhile. Still gotta clean up and put the furniture back before work on Monday, though.

After a night of poor sleep and a 3:30 wake up call from the the bastard Rawshark Snow, I've had a bit of a mental health meltdown. So now I'm in a Wetherspoons... which feels counterproductive but they have free wifi and here I am, trying to give myself a change of scenery and get on with work.
A fat schoolkid has just walked past me sighing like a middle aged history teacher and meeting his parents after a tough day at school. He's earned his fish fingers.

He's just walked past again in a huff, after I heard the most Wetherspoon's snippet of conversation ever...
Mum: "I WILL pay for it, but only if we get the £12 one from Argos."
Kid "Whaaaa'everrrrrr."
