Something I own just got shown on TV. I've had it for a few years after picking it up at auction, but just got it back from framing and I've sent it on loan... to the BBC. It's the original sketch design for the Blue Peter galleon, by Tony Hart. I only got it to them last week, then yesterday they emailed me to say it's the 60th anniversary of the Blue Peter badge itself, and they would like to show the original design live on the show this evening! Have to admit, I wasn't even sure if Blue Peter was still a thing!

My guess would be that Trowel once saved Tony Hart's life, and ended up being included in Tony's will.
Tony was a wacky sort of chap at heart, and his will stipulated that Trowel and half a dozen others had to spend one night in a haunted mansion. The prize? A one-of-a-kind original sketch would go to whomever remained in the house come daybreak.
All sorts of crazy hijinks ensued, and the short version of the story is that in the morning our buddy Trowel emerged victorious.
Or maybe I've watched too many episodes of Scooby-Doo.

Dropped my daughter off at rainbows, nice stroll down to the pub just in time for the sun to finally come out today.
Will enjoy a few pints in the beer garden.

Don't believe in fate or any higher power, but it's weird how sometimes things just seem to align.
Long (very long) story cut extremely short:
We have been short-staffed at work for nearly four years now. I'm basically doing the job of three people. Every holiday I take, I have my laptop with me and have to do something every day. I can't unwind and can't switch off. We tried last year unsuccesfully to get someone and it never worked out. Things have been even more mental recently as the boss has been off for weeks and even when he was in before that, couldn't do full days due to his health. So we spoke again about trying to get someone in.
Who to get though? I have no time to train anyone and our experience with getting younger people in haven't been great. We also didn't know exactly what position we wanted to advertise the job as (we are a small business so we kind of needed a jack of all trades), and so I kept putting off putting a job ad up.
Worse than that, I've got time off on the horizon and I really need to get some time away with the family, but bricking it as no cover etc.
In walks a guy earlier this week. Out of the blue. Just moved in to the area with his Mrs and was firing some CVs around on the off chance. He ticks EVERY fucking box that I had in my head. Essentially the ideal person to work for us. He's flexible with time and days, has decades of experience in the trade, is incredibly pleasant, ameniable, and his attitude is amazing. He's got some sort of background in every aspect of the job and would also be ready to do what was needed without having to rigidly stick to one role.
So he was in again today and he starts a week on Monday. I'm so fucking chuffed it's unreal.

Of course, afer the initial settling in period it's all going to go disastrously wrong, but that's in the future and I'm not thinking of that yet.
