I voted for Quake 3 by virtue of being the only one I've played. You can't fault that science. Actually, I played local split screen Unreal Tournament on the Dreamcast a couple of times with the DC pad but I'm pretty sure that doesn't count. Quake was great though and had some fun times at work during lunch breaks playing over the network with work colleagues. I voted the third option as I've not played either. They look identical to me from screenshots. Coke vs Pepsi That's like saying Tekken and Rise of the Robots look identical

Actually, can we have Rise of the Robots 3 already? Of all the IPs that could be resurrected, that one would stand to gain a lot from a proper remake.

I feel like I had more fun and more craziness in UT as opposed to Q3 with every cunt rail gunning you from miles away like a cunt. Also UT 2004 was the fucking tits.

Railgun was my way of keeping those 1on1 pro knobs away who collected every item on the map in the moment they respawned. I'm making Q3A sound like fun, ain't I

I preferred Fur Fighters over those two games
Can you add Fur Fighters to the poll?

We need to turn that into a pie chart, just to rub it in.

Quake series peaked with the first game.
Unreal Tourny also had more options and variety. Q3 probably was the purer game, but I had more fun with UT.

Quake is a better competitive game but unreal was the more fun screw around game.
UT was the best of that series. 2003 was dire, good that 2004 hastily fixed most of those problems. Still dislike the ui on it though.

Going to go all in and say that Half-Life deathmatch was better than both of them.

Wasn't HL Deathmatch just Quake though? Either which way, HL multiplayer was all about the mods.

Aside from the spelling and grammar, nothing about that sentence was correct. You may leave.

Team Fortress would like a word... and I'm sure there was another mod about shooting terrorists or something...

Never liked the feel of some of the weapons in UT, but Q3 did have a really shitty shotgun and machinegun.
So I dunno, I'm giving this to Q3, but just barely. I'd rather play Q1 though.

Quake III, for me, had the much nicer, smoother gameplay; moment-to-moment it was just more fun to play. It became my kind of default shooter; this was what FPS deathmatch games were supposed to be. And it looked the absolute tits.
UT was a bit clunkier, I found it a bit murkier, more complicated. But in all of that, it was still tremendous fun, and I felt you could configure it more to play it how you want.
TBH I only had Quake III myself, I played UT at my girlfriend's house, which might colour my preference a bit. But they were both great, great games.

This. That and the sheer hilarity of chasing someone round the map with the redeemer.

This. That and the sheer hilarity of chasing someone round the map with the redeemer. You could insta splat people coming through the warp gate at the bottom with your piston,if you stood behind it on the other side. Used to annoy the piss out of people.

Unreal Tournament had better bots I believe. It also had a game type that gave you specific objectives in order to win the round, which was too much fun but for the life of me cannot remember its name
