I’ve very much plateaued. I’ve got to this weird point where everyone is either much worse or much, much better so I’m not learning a lot either way.

I’m enjoying battlehub so much that I don’t even venture into ranked these days. And it’s a total mix. Probably the most annoying thing is when you’re having a good set and get interrupted by some rando from Japan on wifi, but it doesn’t happen often.

I’m still really enjoying this! And apart from the throw option select, nothing is broken and nobody is overpowered.. it’s so wierd! Not sure how Capcom got it so right out of the gate like this.

BigBird confidently ran through everyone at RBK, so much so that he will surely be a threat at Evo in a months’ time. Will anyone have developed enough anti-Marisa tech by then to cause a problem..? Looking forward to finding out.

At scrub tier, yes. Everyone has worked out her wakeup game sucks. No invincible reversal, no invincible level 1 and she cant deal with crossups at all. As soon as I get knocked down, its party time for pretty much every character.

I never bother with lobbies - I just go into Arcade mode or Training and put Casual or Ranked matchmaking on.

Am I missing out on anything by not going to the Battle Hub?

Is that official??

Edit: it is! He looks rad. Can’t wait to get really really fucked off by his play style all over again.

Character bullshit list:

Dive kick - yes
Side switching dive kick - yes?
Spend the game constantly fishing for a low medium kick into 30% damage - unknown

Its going to be interesting to see how seeimingly the majority of players I run into try to play this rushdown character as lame keepaway.

No, he looks good. Im just slightly baffled by the amount of people I run into who play keepaway at the moment. There is a lame epidemic. Just wondering how people will manage to turtle up with him.

That said, it is quite satisfying to get a life lead and do it back to them, just sitting in the corner and tea bagging a lot.

Or the slightly more advanced version, throw a slow one and follow it, expecting you to jump it and catch you with an anti-air.

Or the slightly less advanced version of doing it with someone who doesnt even have a fireball.

I dunno, its a way to play so whatever. I think I find it annoying because it always works on me for at least one game because I am great at hanging myself if you give me enough rope.

Does Capcom use mocap in Street Fighter? The movement in these games is so surreal that I imagine they just do everything by hand/computer.

Where say MK or Tekken are a bit more realistic with their movements, so I imagine that’s all mocap.

Yeah, I’m getting there. It’s the arthritic thumbs letting me down now. For every combo I hit, there’s one I just stand there and flash blue like a dick.

Its confirming, for me. Its fine in practice but that 'oh shit, Ive landed it' moment where you sometimes dont believe is real. Quite often I will do a bog standard block string combo because I absolutely didnt expect to land anything.

I'm still really enjoying it, though. My only real complaint is that the best characters are the best characters because they all have basically the same tools. Invicible reversal, fish low forward into 30%, so it gets a bit samey if you are playing randos. Downback and microwalk to try and stop the low kick and be afraid to do anything because you know they will blow you up with OD uppercut.

I do that in training. Practice a bit then my brain short circuits and I lose the timing for something even as basic as a special cancel.
