Isn’t Astin the only one who isn’t dead or totally fucked up nowadays?
It could be a very different kind of movie

Think it's Feldman that's the only fucked up one? But either way not sure what sort of role you would give a bunch of 50+ year olds in a sequel.
Not like it's a passing the torch type story.

I think Ke Huy Quan and Josh Brolin are doing okay?

Basically it’ll be the original cast who have kids. The kids find another map from One-Eyed Willy, and go on a big adventure. The parents are worried where they are gone, who then go and find them, setting up all kinds of mishaps, whilst there’s also a separate gang who want the treasure for themselves. Also, one of the parents probably longed for marrying the other, but didn’t, and there’s some scene where they go I WISH I MARRIED YOU.
I give it sequel out of 10.

What exactly was the 30m spent on? Don't think I saw a single ad for it.

I saw a few bus ads and youtube ones. But the money clearly wasn’t spent astroturfing because every streamer or influencey channel in nerd media was screaming about how terrible it was

So weird what they are doing to Hellboy. They have a decent franchise here, with lots of interesting plots. B.P.R.D too...

Total Film is shutting down. Whilst I've not bought an issue in years, it's still pretty sad to see another magazine fold.

Had not heard of the new Alice Lowe film until saw the trailer yesterday. Timestalker - looks potentially great! Getting some Darkplace oddity vibes. Nick Frost too.
Out next week.

Yeah, it's very funny. Alice Lowe falls in love with a guy who's a bit of a dunce (he reminds me of Barry Lyndon a bit), and stalks him throughout time. It's not as funny as Darkplace, but tbf very few things are.

Not that I've seen it yet but the whole keeping pretty quiet that it's a musical was probably a really bad idea.

I'm confused. I'm pretty sure they were quite open about the fact that it was a musical. Regardless I think it's biggest crime is that it's quite boring and they did quite a bait and switch where Lady Gaga is barely in the movie.

So open about it being a musical there's no songs sung in any of the trailers.

Over the last couple months they changed to it's not really a musical. But it was definitely sold as one when it was announced.

Looks like the new Hellboy is another stinker.
Just leave it be. We got two great films from the IP.

Apparently Joker 2 is tracking at sub-Morbius levels

It does sound like if it didn’t have any link to the Joker property at all it would have been dismissed as shit arty wank, done badly but on a ridiculous budget.
They definitely forgot the step of asking ‘why’.

They definitely forgot the step of asking ‘why’. I remember saying that about the first movie tbh. Well, not the shitty arty wank, but that the DC context weighed it down. I think it works as a better character piece without the Joker link.
