I saw a new Alien Romulus trailer in the cinema on Friday. It looks spectacular, but boyo did it look spoilery. I put my fingers in my ears after a short while.

It looked like shit from the start. also kevin hart is really wrong for Roland. Can't wait for the cast to attack the bad reviews (some of the madam web actors attacked the negative reviews of that film but no one really took them serious)

Well you've only really got three proper A-list actors, and their motivation (other than cash) breaks down as: Kevin Hart: currently trying to move outside his "screeching comic sidekick" persona with more leading man and dramatic roles. Playing a straight-man action hero in a big franchise would be appealing. Cate Blanchett: by all accounts absolutely loved playing Hela so probably, in a reverse of Hart, wants to try more wacky, comedic, broad roles. Here she gets to be a leading action hero. Jack Black: basically just a voiceover role, he probably turned up for six days' worth of recording over an eighteen month period and was paid a couple of million dollars. It's Hollywood so if the script for a tent pole effects-driven blockbuster was shit, they were all probably used to that stuff getting fixed as the process went on so they just rolled the dice. |

britesparc JLC too, Shirley? She's had a bit of a late career resurgence with EEAAO/The Bear and is definitely better than this drivel. It was meant more as a joke at Hart's expense mind you. I can totally understand actors taking a well paying job.
