To weigh in on FPS issues I have found performance pretty consistent. Granted I have VRR on Xbox but it seems to only dip noticeably in Vernmouth in my experience. Even those dips seem totally fine.
Fighting massive hulking beasts and a handful of minions in densely foilaged areas with a full complement of pawns seems to cause no issues to performance either which is where it would be most impactful.
If 30 really bothers you maybe your experience would be more impacted but I've found it to be a non issue. Same goes for the MTX, honestly I wouldn't even know they were there!

How big is this? Feel like I've played for about twenty hours but only just did the masquerade and believe I've been everywhere on the starting area up until checkpoint town. It's very front loaded with content. When you go to the second city there is very little to do mission wise in comparison. Jarringly so really.

Sacked it off on the last boss as it annoyed me. Had a bug just before that made me redo a massive segment and I thought that was enough for me. Loved lots of it though and it's probably the best 7/10 game I've played in years if that makes sense.

I had weird shit happen in the travelling companion quest- we were on our way to the marker, when he disappeared and it told me I'd failed it. Elf boy is currently nowhere to be seen to re-try it. It seems to be quite a common thing and I've even checked the morgue. He should apparently possibly re-appear at some point near my house later on in the game.
We'll see.
Progressed a load of quests in the capital yesterday which got lots of xp, but minimal vocation increases due to dressing up to sneak or just chatting. Looking like I am batthal bound soon.
Also helped a geezer fight something in the misty marshes which was fun, but a total ballache to find the path to get on to the damned island they were all on. Or at least, *I* struggled a lot to find it in the mist!

Also Rob, Woddy wants to keep tossing me about the place. At one point he wouldn't move for about five minutes until I came over so he could chuck me three storeys up into the air. The guy's unhinged. Damn good fighter though. But unhinged. Haha, yeah he loves that move. Except when you actually want him to use it to get to a chest or something then he pretends like he has no idea what you are talking about.

It's a non issue, I stop playing lots of games on the last boss if I'm not enjoying the fight and it doesn't adversely affect my feelings towards the game much. I think having to redo a massive section before did more damage.

Still haven't finished bloodborne either. I normally stop around the end boss too if it pisses me off too much.
I'm more into exploring than anything else and having fun.

On the completion of DD2 point, I believe there is a load of post-content to do once the final boss is dealt with: But the final battle against a big dragon (what else would it be?) is by no means the game’s actual end. Depending on the player’s choices, there is a ton of content to explore even after you’ve bested the final boss. Just make sure you’re prepared to deal with the consequences.www.polygon.com/gaming/24118067/dragons-dogma-2-last-boss-ending

I very rarely actually finish games these days. I don't always have patience for a boss, particularly a tough fight (and even more particularly for a disproportionate end boss fight), which is hilarious given my love for souls-likes. Like quad, it's the exploration that I enjoy. Bosses are something to be endured but I don't actually like them (okay except the Pursuer from Dark Souls 2 who I think I've killed more than three billion times including batering him with a ladle). In fact, I hate end bosses more than anything. By that time I'm ready to finish, it's in sight. I've tackled everything the game has thrown at me. Just let me finish!

I always see games through to the end, which I guess makes me something of an outlier in this discussion.
By contrast, I very rarely do any exploring, so in that sense I still leave content on the table when I 'finish' a game.
NG+? Only for FromSoft.
Replays? As above, with very few exceptions (for instance, I've played the Uncharted games several times each - they're like gaming comfort food to me).

Even in Souls, I've always found the bosses more of an annoyance that I need to tolerate to get through to the next level, which is where the fun is at. I don't think I've ever done a NG+, I always re-roll with a different spec. Probably no need really in DD2 as you can freely switch between vocations (which is great!).
Anyway, hoping to get back on tonight.

I never used to like boss fights, but I really came to appreciate them when I played Dark Souls for the first time in 2020. (Is it weird that I almost miss COVID and lockdowns? There was so much gaming time back then!)
These days boss battles are kind of integral parts of gaming to me.

Back to DD2, last night's session involved exploring the ruins that mysteriously rose from the ocean near Harve Village. I was soon tasked with finding 15 dragon scales, which I thought would be a real ballache; however, I got all I needed by killing a single dragon near the Ancient Battleground.

I've seen said creature and noped out of there. I'm very much not keen if I have to go back and fight it!

I don't mind boss fights but I don't want to do them more than twice unless it's a souls game and even then it had better be a good fight (that bitch on elden ring took me a day haha)

I feel I'm in the minority regarding boss battles. Unfortunately we live in a time when the vocal supporters of tough boss battles have won out and game devs are cranking the difficulty/challenge exponentially. Boss battles are an old trope - it's about time a different mechanic was introduced or, hell, why not make them optional? Having said that I did manage to defeat a drake in DD2 (well some dragony thing which waffles on about you being Arisen and show me your power). Was quite fun once I had levelled my char. Before that I kept seeing it and saying "nah mate, later, then you will learn" and ran the other way or avoided.

Yeah love a good boss fight. I was getting sick of them back in the day but games like Resi 4 and MGS Revengance made me fall in love with them all over again. FPS bosses can fucking do one though because they're uniformly bullshit.

The last game I played that had rewarding boss fights was Metroid Dread. Everything else is usually an absolute chore and I'd rather just have a cutscene.

I really don't know what they were thinking with that one. They basically had the epic fight just before and they thought "fuck it, let's have a terrible screen filling boss that ruins the fucking camera and teleports away so you have to keep running to it".

I'll still see how I get on though

"Ah, you know what mate, you can just fuck off now" feeling too.
