Wish I had more time to play this. Getting an hour here and there just isn’t scratching that itch and I’m already annoyed I’ll be away at Easter!

I threw someone's pawn off a cliff earlier as he was annoying me. Speaking of falling off of cliffs, you stay away from the spear quaddy as it's lunge move will get you in bother. You'll be grassed up for that. The pawn will return home with tales of mistreatment at the hands of a cruel arisen.

Friends pawns seems to have been fixed. I've only had 3 pawns show up since launch, but looking this evening and there are loads there now.

Had a decent session on it yesterday but was mostly doing stuff in and around the capital. Ended up getting arrested at one point which cost me 10k gold. That was inconvenient.
Going to do the monster culling quest next so I can get out and about. Already done the mine.
I can now see everyone’s pawns, so will start bringing them along on my misadventures.

Chunk of hours in and I have only just discovered how to quick equip Lanterns (Left Shoulder Button + Right Dpad button)
Love how the picture of the lantern in the inventory relates to the amount of oil in it as well.
This has been you Dragons Dogma Lantern report for the week, thank you.

I'm going to have to forbid my pawns to look up above ground level when we're in the Capital. They are fucking obsessed with the ladders on the roofs around there.
It's so damn moreish. Particularly when you're journeying from one place to another. It starts to get dark so suddenly you're like "fuck, need to camp". Spy a campfire in the distance and head there, only to discover a load of bandits there. Finish them off to discover their camp is in the mouth of a cave, so you end up going down and exploring. You surface ages later somewhere else, only to be attacked by big globs of sentient ecto-jizz. Run away and end up in some ruins. Attacked by skeletons and before you know it it's daylight and you forgot what the hell you were doing in the first place.

Had to use a guide a couple of times as I'm too thick to work a couple of the quests out. I would have hated to review this as I wouldn't have had anything to refer to and would have been lost all the time 😂
If you are stuck not knowing where to go next a visit to the captain is usually worthwhile as you may have missed some of his conversation branches which lead to other quests.

There is a shop hidden away in the main town that gives you quest hints for 50 groats (or whatever the feck the currency is)
Another shop in a different town makes forgeries of items, man, this game is obscure fun.
High Five!

Yeah he's good for giving you more tips if you get stuck. Also, I've noticed, it REALLY pays to look around. Particularly if you think you're done with an area. There's always something extra. I was chuffed to find something quite hidden at one of the quest locations after thinking I'd done the quest. I hadn't, and if I hadn't found this wee crazy bit to visit, I would have been stuck for ages.

I saw someone on here (possibly Frog) mentioned about seeing the captain after getting the "tomes" part of the quest. Saved me a load of time I reckon! What I will say, is that it doesn't look particularly great, especially close up, and the 'stealth' is a bit laughable (see aforementioned quest), but its just really fun to play which is the most important thing. I'm getting much better at combat now I've unlocked a bit of the archer skills and got a better bow. Pawns do the grunt work, I shoot safely from afar

So, top tip guys, well more of a PSA but if any of your pawns have eyes that glow red or start acting strangely and become disobedient DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT rest at an inn. Throw them in a river to kill them and rehire new pawns and claim your dead pawn back. Seriously.

I dunno, seems more like a Frog thing than a Wunty thing to be honest.

wunty yeah, it's just one giant mess of distractions. I always load the game up planning to do something specific and then get totally sidetracked. Now for example I wanted to head to a city to change a couple of vocation points and check if the friends' pawns list was updating for me, so decided to take a longer way around to fill out the map a bit. I came across a dragon and a Cyclops having a bit of a rumble so watched that for a bit from afar, then spotted a ballista so thought I'd join in for the lols. I instantly regretted my decision and ran away as quick as I could when they both turned on me, then got mixed up in a side quest to explore some catacombs and... Erm... What was I doing again?

Getting used to the fighter now with some additional moves - I normally play support (mage/archer) in games so this is different for me. However, not sure I want to change vocation as my aged mind can remember only a certain amount of moves before I just get overwhelmed and learning a whole lot of new moves outside of fighter just seems daft.
Found a boss as part of a quest and thought 'ah this is the Dark Souls inspiration' as they hit bloody hard and seemed to have crazy AOE attacks - thank god they left after I got their health down by one blip (out of four) otherwise I may have rage-quit. I am sure they will be back though :-(.
Also, nice to see my pawn being used - not sure whether from here or elsewhere - she had some choice words about one player always ending up in jail.

Some of the upcoming changes. I'm amazed that a frame lock wasn't in the game from the beginning. It's baffling.

I avoided those two completely. It seemed like absolute bait what with the ballista at the top of the fort.

The frame rate chugs a fair bit while wandering about in Vernworth, which is mildly annoying, but I've found it pretty stable elsewhere.

The only concern now will be if the ability to restrict the frame rate will include correct frame pacing.

Put mine at 60 max and it's a better experience than the fluctuations even with vrr. The spikes are massive on pc though from 144 down to about 58.

The only concern now will be if the ability to restrict the frame rate will include correct frame pacing. I'll bet a tenner the frame pacing is knackered once the cap is implemented. Being able to switch RT off should definitely help the frame rate outside of towns. Still no mention of fixing the broken checkerboarding on Xbox mind you.

I would imagine it's because they haven't noticed it just like the weird aiming acceleration in Resi 4 Remake for Xbox was fucked for aaaages. I think it took a while to fix the broken checkerboarding for the PS5 version too. I'm going to leave the RT on as when you get to Bahtall. Well, you'll see.
