Yeah, I had fun with the character creator making them walk like they'd just shat themselves

My character looks odd in certain places, and then normal looking in others. I can't put my finger on it

I don't normally enjoy character creation but this one has been great. As always with Capcom, I don't believe for a second they intend for it to be funny. And that's part of why it's so funny.
Resisted the urge to have posture facing 45 degrees towards the sky with both eyes shut and the skin of a 90 year old but it was a close call.

The DLSS 3 Frame Gen mod from PureDark works surprisingly well. It introduces some artefacts on the text above characters when you rotate the camera, and some on grass, but I'll take that for doubling the frame rate. I'm playing with a controller and as an archer, so any induced input lag isn't bothering me either. Definitely worth a try if you have the specs (I'm on a 4070 Super and i5 8600K at 4.5Ghz), and I'm getting locked 120 in the wilds and 90+ in Melve, still yet to try the big cities though. Yea have FG running as well and it's fine. I get occasional stutter even in the world - like a shader stutter if I do something for the first time. Doesn't happen all the time but when it does it is noticeable. This is with a 4090/5800x3d/64gb ram. Running DLSS quality and the textures are really crisp - not sure what people are saying that DLSS is borked. Anyhow have made my way to the capital - lot's of 'ooooh what's over here?' and 'fuck me the troll just drop kicked me across a bridge' events on the way. Left a lot of paths unexeplored so will have to make my way and check those out. Nice to be back in DD as it was always one of my favourite RPGs.

At the capital and upgraded a shit load so I’ve got a whole suite of skills and better bow and armour. Billy too. Off to find some goblins that have nicked a shipment now. A rare afternoon sitting gaming and this is literally the best game to be playing on a day like this. Splendid.

It's Saturday, I've had a long week of work I wanna unwind by getting tag teamed by two Minotaurs. And playing Dragon's Dogma.

Yeah starting to get the archer a bit more now. Decided to explore a bit before heading to the capital. Ran into a giant ogre/cyclops. Died once and my pawn died twice. Managed to finish it though, I think more by luck than judgement. At one point I was hanging on its back with little effect Billy fought well Wunty. Although I had to revive him twice

Ha! Well done Billy! He should be better now I’ve just given him a better sword. His voice is cracking me up. The great lovable idiot.

I have this theory that a key part of their development process is going out and getting hammered and say thing like "you know what? We should just forget about rendering that cooking bit, and just film that chop you've got in the fridge with my phone. That'll be *awesome*" before high fiving each other and running round the garden chasing each other with water pistols, laughing. Some Japanese Devs take themselves very seriously. I suspect all capcom's best ideas come from going round the Tsujimoto family home and doing shots till they pass out.

I think I should probably head off to the capital now rather than risking my arse under levelled around here. Likely won’t be able to get on until Monday though, unless I can sneak a bit of tv time when I get in tonight.

SF6 character creator says they definitely know how stupid it is and actively lean into it and celebrate it.

I'm now adventuring with a certain William Biopsy Esq., who has thus far proven to be a useful (and amusing) member of my party of idiots.
Is there an auto-advance option for dialogue that I've somehow missed? I'm not used to having to press a button to move conversations on, so I keep pressing it too soon (thereby cutting off NPCs mid-sentence) or too late (and staring gormlessly at the screen for several seconds until I realise what's happening).

It does the whole 'emergent gameplay' thing pretty well - I'd somehow lost the guy who was meant to be accompanying me to the capital, and when I reached the checkpoint, the guards wouldn't let me through.
An hour or so later, and with many misadventures under my belt, I finally got back there to find my chaperone waiting patiently (whereupon the jobsworth in charge of the gate agreed to let us pass).
During a side quest, some guy named Markus started mouthing off at me... so naturally I killed him (with Billy's enthusiastic assistance) and threw his corpse into a nearby body of water. Now I can't complete the quest until I bring him back from the dead. Who would've thought that indiscriminate murder would have consequences?
I've only fought a couple of ogres (cyclops?) so far, in terms of large foes, but it's as much fun as ever.

Hired pawns don't level up as you play, right? So if I want to get Billy at his current level, instead of that at which I originally hired him, I need to... what? Go into the Rift, release him from my party, then rehire him?

Alas, the path of true love never runs smoothly - I spent two hours trying to get back to Melve, in order to give Ulrika a bunch of flowers, but didn't make it.
All sorts of shenanigans ensued, from epic battles to camping trips, yet my betrothed remained flowerless.

Don't know but I am having the same issues - be nice if they just highlighted the key/button when their chat was done. Oh and for anyone who wants a sassy archer (PC) then just call Wonderstuff. :-)

Huzzah! The Mrs is going out with her sister tomorrow afternoon. Put the boy on his PlayStation, girls on their iPads. PlayStation time for dad. I think that’s how parenting works anyway.

Anyone else met a kilt wearing mage called Blossom? He’s a capcom pawn and much higher level than I was so I hired him. He’s an absolute cunt! I love the idea they’ve put him there so you’ll get so sick of him you get rid, despite him being really useful.

I naively assumed that all leg armour would cover an equal amount of my Arisen's lower body, so when I found a pair of leggings with better stats than my current garments, I equipped them right away and sold the old ones. Thing is, they're thigh-high stockings, so my protagonist is running around with his Y-fronts visible. I can't take my eyes off his pale, hairless buttocks as I venture hither and thither. 10/10 GOTY.
