Scrapheap Challenge Series 2 (all4)
For some reason there’s only one series on All4 but what an absolute joy.
Big hairy men with names like Nosher, Big Kev, Daz, Lurch, and Bowser getting filthy building massive welded contraptions and having a bloody good laugh while doing it.
Kryten is as perfect a host for this as Lister was for Robot Wars, perhaps even more so. There’s a real genuine sense of camaraderie between the teams and the hosts.
I’m incredibly envious of their practical skills and the amount of fun they’re having with their mates. Even with a couple of situations that look ridiculously dangerous along the way.

The Walking Dead S9 - 6.5/10
I stopped watching it when it first aired at the time jump partway through the season, but recently felt a hankering to come back and finish it all off. The new antagonist(s) are decent enough and it's like slipping into a comfy old pair of jeans. Totally undemanding comfort TV.
Eugene needs to get his head stoved in asap, though. His whole southern professor schtick wore thin after a couple of episodes back in the day, but here he is still going strong. He's like nails on a chalkboard in human form.

The Boys - Season 4
Got prime for a month and heard the show is not as good as it use to be and that view is spot on. I thought s3 started to spin it wheels and nothing really happened. But this season, stuff happens to several characters and its forgotten about, with Hughie, the
the sexual assault on him is played for laughs, even the show's developer is on record that he loved it and found it amusing and pretty much any criticism of the writing was dismissed as "herp derp, you liek trump" iirc. In ep 2 and 3 characters have the chance to get people but they let them run away. Hughie's dad just kills people as he gets V and nothing happens from the events, Frenchie and Kimiko's plots don't go anyway, mainly frenchie's as gets let out of jail next ep. Sister sage is suppose to be the most intelligent person in the world, she acts like, she plays 18D chess but never once seems she is playing this complex plan. She is quite insufferable and poorly written I did like A train turning against the 7 as he had been disillusioned last season
the old characters save the show, Like Butcher and Homelander, they play their roles perfectly but s5 needs to be the final season as the story is pretty much done, it could of been 3 seasons long and it would of felt better paced but they need to milk the cash cow. its funny they ridicule Marvel for their phase spin offs and tv show but they are doing with the awful gen V show and heard there is another spin off with soldier boy iirc
4.5/10

Yellowstone S1
Enjoyed it in an everyone is an absolute cunt sort of way. Couple of moments in I think episode 6 and 7 where it kind of jumps the shark and gets a little ridiculous but otherwise it’s good tv.
4/5

CHEATERS (sic) S1 - 8/10
Smashed through this. Amazing what 10 minute episodes do to your brain. It's a funny and somewhat ludicrous comedy drama about middle class 30 somethings struggling through relationships. Sigh.

House if the Dragon S1. I missed the hype on GoT (book wanker) so I’m very late to the party but this is fun. Politicking, dragons, schemes, all good stuff but there’s a lot of incest and a LOT of childbirth :/
The world seems inconsistent, too - glass is lumpen and poorly fashioned when they make goblets with it, but flawless and everywhere in windows. The Kingsguard look like they’re wearing crash helmets, and none of the architecture makes any sense if you know the first thing about castles. Plus everyone ages in fits and starts, sometimes the boys from one house grow up suddenly, sometimes the ones from the other. And then you have characters like Christan Cole who are never recast and eternally twenty, apparently.
Paddy Considine and Rhys Ifans are quietly excellent, Matt Daemon is having a great time and steals the show but my favourite is the fruity Noel Fielding eyepatch guy who is laughing even when he isn’t.
It’s lavish, which makes it good to an extent. But I hope something actually happens in Season Two, this feels more like a background primer in why everyone hates each other. It’s zeitgeisty enough to be worth watching, I’d say.

Only murders in the building S4 8/10 I enjoyed this a lot more than S3! I can't remember having any laugh-out-loud moments in S3, but I had plenty here. So many fun/crazy/nutty characters! The Hollywood producer, Charles' sister, the Westies Paul Rudd again! . I'd say this is a proper return to form.
