It’s not really bad, it is something that shouldn’t seem wrong and could have been fixed with slightly different editing or a single line of dialogue for most of these ‘issues’.
A lot of these problems do seem a little nitpicky, but I can see at the same time they are things that could have been avoided.

I don't really get why the tunnel thing is foxing people. She recognises writing on the wall, is clearly one of the younglings that had previously been shipped through this route, she then goes as the crow flies directly to where the tunnel comes out.

Not gonna lie, I was half watching it and didn't notice anything. Probably says more about the quality of the show.
All I remember is Darth Vader being a bit rubbish (somehow) and Kenobi letting little Leia float. Actually don't remember how the episode ended.

The whole interaction with Leia kind of makes the wording she uses in R2's video message a bit odd "you fought with my father in the clone wars", like otherwise he's got not connection to her. Presumably the series is going to end with her getting bumped on the head so that she doesnt' remember any of this.

Maybe in a new hope her R2 message deliberately does not mention their personal relationship for security reasons? I wouldn't be surprised if "you're my only hope" is used in some context in this series. Giving the use of it in ep4 more/less impact depending on your world view! Leia doesn't have any contact with Obi-Wan in ep4, does she even know he was part of the rescue - I can't remember!

Star Wars has continually retconned stuff that makes little sense since Empire, so it’s not a particularly new thing.

My gf had never actually seen the original. Think she'd only seen one of the prequels and, rightly, thought it was a load of guff so never bothered with the rest.
So we rewatched Ep 4 last night. Think she enjoyed it more than I did. Cracking soundtrack though.

Watching episode 1 now.
Obviously its inherited a lot of nonsense from the prequels but feels suitably Star Wars-y so far.
Biggest issues so far have been Flea’s orange tshirt looking very out of place and his lackeys being fucking shit at chasing a tiny child

All caught up. Feels like this falls right into the “originally conceived as a movie” category that a couple of the D+ MCU series have had.
Has Solo and a toxic fanbase scared them out of theatres or was this always supposed to be an original series like Mando?

I think a lot of people thought it was going to be a movie because of Rogue One and Solo (i.e. that they'd make the "Star Wars Story" subtitle a series for the non-"main story" movies to be bundled into, with Kenobi being the third)
I forget if Kenobi was actually "Kenobi: A Star Wars Story" the movie before being repurposed as a series or if it was planned to be a series from the start, though.

Fairly sure it was a film. I remember seeing a timeline they released a few years ago.
Mandalorian was pretty much a Jon Favreau pet project that was used to push Disney+ and did far better than expected.

Got caught up last night. I noticed the tunnel thing too, I assume it was meant to be an audience misdirection where you think she's chasing from behind, but really *gasp* she's jumped out from in front. I agree it didn't land properly but I'm not ready to slit my wrists. I also have this thing where I wait until the next episode before I decry something as a plothole.
Also, I said it the other week, but I simply do not see everyone's problem with Reva's actress. Just don't get it. I can of course see how any actor can happen to rub a person the wrong way but the idea that she stands out in some way doesn't ring true to me

I'm starting to feel its the direction rather than acting.
Her character is clearly going to go through some hero/face turn before the end, it's just a shame it's so clumsy.
It would be far more entertaining if Raiden Inquisitor was all surprise motherfuckers! Jedi laser blast!

Has Solo and a toxic fanbase scared them out of theatres or was this always supposed to be an original series like Mando? Obi-Wan was going to be a movie, but I don't know if it was this Obi-Wan, so to speak. They announced four "Star Wars Stories" way back when they announced Force Awakens, although they only named the first two (Rogue One and Solo). The other two were to be directed by Josh Trank and Stephen Frears. Trank carried the can for the disastrous Fantastic Four movie he directed, which was produced by Frank Marshall, who if he's not directly involved in SW projects presumably has the ear of his wife, Kathleen Kennedy; anyway, he got Trank fired from the SW movie, which was heavily assumed to be about Boba Fett. The Obi-Wan movie - which, again, I don't think was formally announced as being about Obi-Wan, but which was pretty much openly discussed - was still on at this point, but after the failure of Solo and the need to make Content for D+, the project was reconceived as a TV show. In interviews promoting the show, the writer and director strongly imply that it was very heavily reworked if not a whole scale reimagining, so it's probably fair to say that this current story was planned as a series from the start, with little if any connective tissue to the movie idea.

It’s really obvious to me it isn’t Prowse in the Vader costume but the skinny Anakin guy. He lacks the same presence, body language and timing, although part of that could be the lack of as fine-tuned editing you get in a feature film.

Ergh, that's my summary after finishing the first 3 episodes. Alot of potential, however some really bad direction has hurt this series so far.
Ewan is on form and that's about it, rogue one still has the best vader scene and there is some real shoddy moments which I think has already been covered previously.
Really hoping the next 3 get better, the inquisitors are awful aswell. Should have had some real menace instead it feels like drama school bad guys.

Maybe a film with tighter editing and the full production value would have helped. That doesn't keep the subs up though.

Presumably the series is going to end with her getting bumped on the head so that she doesnt' remember any of this. Young Leia (so far) has only heard of him referred to as Ben. Nothing else. As it stands so far, we are getting a long ass explanation for how why she responds ‘BEN?!? Kenobi’ in IV Which is the kind of backstory we didn’t need to hear and will no doubt make some of you miserable cunts melt your old action figures in a bonfire as a mark of disgust Seriously. I can easily imagine some of you looking at the crayon artwork your eager, doe-eyed three year old hands you to you in great expectation only to remark, “Well, Constance, this line here, which I can only assume is meant to represent the back of the giraffe, is two degrees shy of the golden angle. I wish you’d never been born”

Considering its an insert between Episodes that can only end with “and then he went back to his cave for another ten years” they’re pretty limited in the story they can tell.
I would like Raiden to have had more screentime though.

The only thing I really like about it is Ewan. It looks surprisingly cheap, is badly directed and edited and honestly there are so many plot holes, logic fails and general stupidity that I’m finding it hard to suspend disbelief. I’m vaguely enjoying it, but it’s a massively wasted opportunity, as usual.

Critical Drinker was mildly amusing a few years ago, but totally went off the rails about one of the SW sequels and I've avoided him like the plague since. He clearly has some serious mental issues, but that seems to translate to more and more subscribers... Seems to be a poster child for incels these days.
