When I realised she looked like Amanda Knox my collection of deep fake Amanda Knox porn really came into its own.

Mine still manages to download both versions of every upgraded game, for some reason. Even though I specifically didn't queue the PS4 version of this. Weird. Hi mate, just thought I would update, mine has only downloaded the PS5 version. As to the game, played first hour and very much HZD which is absolutely fine. Too be frank the exploration and animations are absolutely Tomb Raider/3rd person action adventure gaming. I love the first game and hope I will feel the same about this.

It gets much much better after you get the intro credits bit Duff, game opens up in a way the other game doesn't and the side quests have been really good so far.

Just started. Not sure which visual mode to pick, the 30fps feels... not good at all, but the performance mode has this weird, noisy look to it that is especially bad when turning the camera.

Don't know if it's anything to do with game mode on the C1 but this is the smoothest game I've played in resolution mode, really happy with it. Agree with you about performance mode it doesn't look quite right.

I think whatever temporal/upscaling solution they're using for the performance is just really struggling to resolve a lot of the finer detail in the environment. It's quite... unflattering, but the 30fps mode doesn't feel particularly great either.

Agree with you about performance mode it doesn't look quite right. If 30fps feels smooth like the first game I will likely opt for that. Even in the comparison video's on youtube the 60fps looked really off at times. While I prefer 60 fps, I can definitely live with 30 if locked, with correct frame pacing and no timed aspects in combat. Sekiro in sub-30 fps was a nightmare for me and I still believe the game should have recieved much more criticism for it.

Her massive moon face is definitely an interesting design choice. I like that she looks like a semi-normal human rather than some standard Hollywood stunning beauty.

I love her as a protagonist. Especially the zero fucks given attitude that she seems to have developed. (not that I can remember much of the last game) Her hair clipping thought her body randomly in cutscenes is a bit distracting tho. Didn't really enjoy every dude in the game being a sex pest now, though. Fuck off sun god. Not today Michael B Jordan lookalike. You can fuck off too other guy from the last game that I also barely remember Probably part of being an accurate modern female character I guess...

It looks very, very nice but it's definitely not the graphical juggernaut it promised to be in the teasers. I actually think the recent Uncharted upgrades look better tbh.
These PS4 versions of their exclusives need to die as soon as possible.

It looks fucking amazing to me. Even on my peasant non-OLED TV.
Pretty sure that worlds has wanked himself into a coma already.

I disagree, the amount of sub detail is kinda insane at times, it's doing many more things than the Uncharted remasters especially as you move on through the game. You appreciate it more when you consider how vast it's open world is, it's making excited for whatever Naughty Dog cooks up and Spiderman 2 which is out next year and PS5 only. But yes I agree about PS4 development fucking off but what can you do when the majority of gamers still have PS4 consoles.

Yeah, as I'm playing through the first game, the Sun King felt gross to me there too. Like the quest you do for him is searching for Olin's missing sister, then when you find her and tell him her fate, first thing he does is go "I wish you wouldn't leave, I could use you by my side" in a sad "nice guy" tone. What a prick.

The scale is obviously not going to be comparable but in terms of fidelity it falls short of Uncharted, IMO. I'm noticing things in this that seem sub-optimal, especially the noise that has already been mentioned in performance mode. It obviously looks better than 99% of shit that's out there, I was just sort of expecting the extra 0.5-1% of that, if you will.

In Resolution mode I'm definitely seeing that DIFFERENCE as it were. I think the performance mode is far too compromised and in that way the Uncharted remasters are better but in performance mode only.

Yeah having spent 20 minutes messing around graphics mode is definitely a noticeable bump up. I hope they can patch out the noise in the 60fps mode. It becomes all you can see in a very short space of time.

They said they have already fixed it and you should have had an update. If you haven't restart your game twice.
It's weird how not everyone is getting the shimmering considering the hardware is the same.
Also no idea if the update resolves it or not

I don’t see any shimmering either on 60fps, is there a way of checking the version installed?

I would very much like them to get rid of the DOF thing on cutscenes though, it would look much better without the blurring that happens. ecosse not sure, I just checked for update and it said latest version installed. My game had restarted itself from being in suspend though

My game (ps4 with free upgrade) is under the ps5 section. Also the install is bigger on ps5. As I say some one will.give you a more elegant solution no doubt.👍

Urgh, the boss fight in this Cauldron is some proper bullshit. Especially when Aloy can barely dodge enemies. I felt like that with most bosses in the Cauldrons in the first game. If you did the same one I did (Mu), it was also quite awkward as I headed in there without the only element type the boss was weak to...

It's weird. The first game I couldn't get enough of the visuals and world but didn't really rate the actual game. This time I'm a bit down on the visuals but I'm clicking with the game a hell of a lot more and really enjoying it. Go figure.

I’m a ‘gRaPhIcS WhORe’ and think this looks absolutely stunning.
In performance mode too.
Can’t see what you guys are saying as a massive difference between the two modes. It looks really sharp in performance, obviously just even sharper in quality, but a massive notable difference (unless you’re sitting right in front of the screen?).
Yeah the only thing pissing me off is the lack of variety in jump animations. Bizarre.
Also, I’m not a fan of the yellow dusk sort of look (after the Embassy bit). It was the bland look of the first game that dragged it down for me.
The start of HFW was stunning, in that tropical setting. I hope there’s a lot more of that style later on.

For those that notice a huge difference In detail, how far are you from the TV? I'm about 3.5m away from a 65" and realise that I miss out on some detail compared to being closer.

Yes it looks sharper in quality mode and then the blurry mess takes over when you pan the camera so a bit pointless really. I'm 2.5 metres away and the difference isn't huge in different modes. Then again I've only got the peasant 65" C9 from years ago.

It's mainly the foliage you can notice it, particularly the grass. There's a graininess to it in performance mode that isn't there in fidelity mode.
Again it looks better than 99% of stuff I've played, I was just expecting a little more polish for something like this. The animations aren't quite right, cutscenes have that Mass Effectesque pause between shots that disrupts the flow of them and I've seen a bit of pop-in in others. I've just climbed a Carja tower and looked down on the area around Chainscrape and the game doesn't even render enemies or NPC's from that height so the world below looks abandoned. Something Spider Man managed to do just fine. It's nothing that will stop me playing or enjoying it but I'd stop short of saying it's a game that stands out as a PS5 seller.
