JB probably put on a better show though, so I wouldn't regret it too much.

First two episodes are ok. That opening scene was very interesting and the way it was shot, with colour, gave a big hint as to what is to come.
I also now have a tiny inkling that Walt didn't actually die in the last BB episode.
Jimmy is, still, the least interesting thing about the show. Nacho, Lalo and Kim are the stars. I could watch Mike do things all day but a fair chunk of it feels redundant. I maintain that Chuck's death should have moved things along quicker and we should have lost the entirety of series 4. Six series is far too much for a prequel.

I also now have a tiny inkling that Walt didn't actually die in the last BB episode. Doesn't El Camino tell us his body was found and that it is revealed to everyone that he was Heisenberg? There are news reports seen in the background about the aftermath of the series finale. Not seen the new Better Call Saul yet though, so don't know what you are referring to. Hoping to keep away from this until the next part drops in July. Will probably try to rewatch the complete series in the run up to that as well.

Can’t wait for this. I’m most interested in where they take Kim Wexler‘s story, love that character The first 2 episodes were a joy!

Have to admit some of the lines have flown over my head because they’re callbacks to episodes in season 2 or thereabouts. I can barely remember what happened last season, never mind something I watched about five years ago.

Ugh, I am perplexed. Did Nacho really kill himself? And does he not appear in Breaking Bad which is a sequel to this? . But I might be remembering it wrong.

Yeah that was...well it was exactly what was going to happen. Ballsy.
100% there's a time skip before the end of this run. I think a couple more 2004 episodes, then some BB era then we finish with 2 on Gene

The hiding place was harsh (and had to suspend my disbelief quite heavily)

Man. Michael Mando has been absolutely superb so far in this series. Well, more precisely, was absolutely superb.

I've struggled a bit trying to recall motivations and backstories. I'm glad that is the final season, I really enjoyed the previous seasons but it feels like they've explored these characters enough.

I was also perplexed but this explains it (major spoiler for latest episode): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nacho_VargaI assume that means, if the Breaking Bad mention of Nacho is still in the future of the current BCS timeline, that Saul will never learn of Nacho's death

Watching a bit of S5 again, and even now the college kid with the boom mic that helped out with the ads and such is credited as 'Sound Guy'. Poor dude.

I’m concerned for Howard. I suspect he and Lalo might cross paths.

I worry for Kim more. Earlier seasons, I expected Jimmy and Kim to have a falling out. Especially after he gets his license to practise law.
But she's supportive of him. She actually has a lot of input into the Saul Goodman persona.
So for her to be completely out of the picture in the future and Lalo on his way back...

I find Kim's character very hard to read, which I think is on purpose.
Most of the time she seems to be in a sulk, quietly disapproving of Jimmy's actions. But when put on the spot she immediately folds and goes all in on Jimmy's latest scheme.
Maybe I'm reading her character wrong, but I just thought her inner conflict regarding Jimmy would have resolved itself one way or another by now.

It's a nice twist, really. We were worrying for so long about the negative effect Jimmy would have on Kim, and maybe never really thinking that it could go in entirely the opposite direction.

I am now fairly convinced Kim is alive in BB world and doing some of the back story. Lalo will be dead because Hector is the last Salamanca.

He tricked Werner in series 4. Managed to work it out. I believe he visited the wire transfer and got the details.

Yes. Which is why Werner had to be offed.
I do enjoy Tony Dalton. I'm hoping he's got more than a single episode left…
