Dying Light 2

Haven't noticed that (FOV).

First time since Cyberpunk that I’ve stayed up way too late into the morning addicted to a game.

This is like Fallout on crack.

Before playing it I was worried about the added human element, less zombies, but what a genius move it was to add human enemies.

Combat is WAY better against them than zombies. You’ve got to time your blocks better, think strategically. I love how humans walk up to you and attack one after another.

There’s so many little intelligent moments all round. AI is fantastic. Seeing zombies smash through windows to get outside when darkness falls is 👌🏻

Just feel like I get what the developers did with this game. GameInformer gave it a 9, ACG loved it, but I wonder if many other reviewers got it. Took a fair few hours for me, mind.

I am going to end up buying this very soon if i keep reading this thread...

Day night cycle is great when you start weighing up the pros and cons of each. I'm not normally a fan of weapon degradation, but the mod system seems decent (it's also the repair system which isn't very well explained)
Hopefully there are some epic weapons that don't degrade though.

Is quality max resolution or ray tracing?

Quality is ray traced shadows but not reflections, or something. I love it too much to change. The lighting makes it that little bit more immersive for me so happy to take the res and fps drop.

I don't know when to crack on with the story as I'm having too much fun climbing windmills and raiding dens at night.

Re:night time - it's lighter than dying light 1 and less threatening if you stick to the roof. At first I wasn't a fan but I actually prefer it now. It makes going out at night much more viable and enjoyable than the first game.

Also: once again they've nailed the parkour. It's immense.

Fuck it, I'm in. My head is saying wait for Elden Ring, but I actually fancy this more.

Getting it on Series X as I've got £25 worth of rewards points. Bugs me that it's a fiver more digitally on Xbox though.

Yeah on the night thing, I love the depth it now has. Going out at night has more purpose in this one, lots to do which is unique to night time.

Question; which faction did everyone go with: peacekeepers or survivors?

(PS, zero bugs so far, 15 hours in, except the flicker but that’ll get fixed. Not an issue).

That's why I'm waiting Duff, the longer you leave it the more polished it will be and there is no chance I can finish this before Horizon comes out. Plus I have Sifu to play through.

Techland have said 5 years of support for this, so no rush for me.

There’s literally no bugs, guys. They fixed them all in the day one patch.

All the reviews were played on a pre day one patch……….

The game itself is great.

Art direction is beautiful. Delightful.

Graphically the resolution is poor at 1080. It’s obvious on my top-of-the-range LG CX55” OLED. Maybe no one else has that TV, it’s quite expensive for normal people.

Being chased and thought out was a good idea to run into a forsaken store. Limbs. Everywhere.
