I had forgotten this was round the corner, if there was no Elden Ring in a few weeks I probably would get it this week - I guess I'll wait until a bit later in the year. I really enjoyed Dead Island, and then played a fair bit of Dying Light (before fatigue hit and I moved onto other things) so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Seemingly all the "impactful choice" stuff is gone, which bothers me not, but it does seem as though it's had a hell of a rocky development. Push Square reckon you're left with a solid sequel to DL which plays much as you'd expect.
Sold. I can have a few beers and kick zombies off rooftops.

Sounds kinda buggy and that UV meter sounds like it will annoy the shit out of me. One to wait for a few patches and a sale I think.

I have never played the Dead Island games but I absolutely loved Dying Light, right from the opening John Carpenter-esque main menu synth music. But damn, DL2 is landing too close to Elden Ring for me, so I'll regretfully pick this up later on in the year in a PS sale.
In the interim, I really hope the devs push out that 60fps update for the original DL, as that would be 'bloody' glorious.

Looks like it's literally just more dying light, with much the same issues the first had. Shit plot, forgettable characters, you get so overpowered the zombies become zero threat, but looks good, has great parkour and you can kick zombies off rooftops. I'm just going to pour it all over me.

Consensus is pretty positive - 77% on Metacritic at the moment. Seems like Keith Stuart is a bit of an outlier this time.

I'm not arguing that those grafficks options sound a bit pish but I think I'll cope with 1080 at 60. Still, a bit disappointing. Mind you my eyesight seems to be deteriorating so... Will I actually notice?

Blackmarsh63Consoles display at your TV's resolution and upscale stuff rather than switching the TV's res all the time, so it wouldn't matter for PS5. Curious to see what the day 1 patch changes, but I doubt we'll get anything like that yet (if ever)

Looking at the DF video it seemed incredibly grainy. I don't like to be a GRAFIX whore but the resolution seems incredibly low effort. But then Guardians was 1080p at a inconsistent 60fps, so what do I know.

I do think though that at least Xbox could've managed 1440p60 if the 30 mode is so close to native 4k. PS5 might've struggled though.

Going to get it in the summer I think when no games are coming out and they have had a chance to patch it a bit. Will be busy with sifu, horizon and elden ring soon so this will be the one that gives.
