Nice one. I'm enjoying the second map, though I've found myself darting back to the old map mop up stuff that was level 4, and also climbing some areas I didn't have the stamina for before.
I'm seeing quite a few more volatiles now - I don't know if this is because I've levelled up or because I went into metro stations / GRE Quarantines during the day (not advised). They can make short work of you, though I cheesed three of the buggers by luring them to an almost closed metal shutter and swiping them through the gap. That's the kind of brave gamer I am.

Are the nights darker after the patch or is it just me imagining it?

Ahhh, so there is rain in this game.

I'm assuming the rain arrived as part of the patch - certainly I had the first rainy night right after installing it. As for darkness: not sure.

Nah, rain was there pre-patch for me. Think it unlocks when you open up the second area.

That would also make sense...in terms of when it started raining, though not why.

I'm 15 hours in and I've only just got to the second map. Loving this and wish I had more time to play it...

It finally rained.
Then, oddly, night fell but the sun stayed out.

Weather update no.2: Now that it's rained once, it's raining a lot more. Not just rain either, I've seen fog and high winds as well, that seem to affect the glider. Not sure if it's the patch but it does seem to be related as there was bugger all before. It seems such a minor thing but I had a whole night of torrential rain and high winds and it actually made it pretty difficult to get from one side of the city to the other. Visibility was down, it was harder to glide so I kept getting myself trapped and chased... Like it.

This is one of those games where NPCs get soaking wet when it rains, despite being indoors.
Still loving it but think I've reached the point where I'll just plough through the story and then call it a day. Currently on a mission where you have to follow a trail of bloody footprints and that mechanic is definitely a weak point in this game.
The glider is fantastic for traversal, but a few times I've had to force myself not to use it. When it's fully upgraded it makes any windmills laughably easy.

No idea how far I am through the story tbh. Something about climbing a big building and turning on a TV transmitter.

I guess a bit ahead of me. I'm aiming to get that mission done asap as you need to unlock the VNC tower to get to the big Easter egg.

It's just a big Easter egg. Restores all your health.

Whoops. I quut the game last night after reaching the water tower faction choice thinking I would do that after some thought.
Do NOT do this! Booted it up today to a blank screen with cursor on it. This was apparently where the choice screen should be. I eventually worked that out after numerous re-boots & panic.
Sadly, since you can't see a thing, i sided with the wrong side, but at least my game can continue. The bazaar peeps seem to be unhappy... As am i, but i can't tell them i made a mistake.

Anyone else finish this? I rushed through the second half or so, wanting to get it done in time for Horizon and Elden Ring: 63 hours (yikes!), 50% trophies and a load of side quests and collectibles left over. The game is at its best when you are wandering around, exploring, traversing, collecting, upgrading. I particularly enjoyed feeling powerful enough to roam at street level shooting howlers and spitters, trophy-farming to upgrade weapon blueprints. Some of the missions were fairly decent but it really goes off the boil at the end. And as for a multi-stage final boss fight that is entirely fun-free Well, that can fuck off. I'll likely dip back in when the mood grabs me, but a lot of the remaining side quests are just parkour challenges or combat arenas. 7/10 in the end.

In all honesty I fell off a cliff with this when the Cyberpunk patch came out. I tried to play it once, lasted half an hour and just booted up CP again. I was enjoying it, but it's a shadow of the first game, which I like a LOT more. There's something about this that's just off, and as I've no doubt mentioned before (because I'm old and repeat myself), I really got bored of the copy / paste exterior and interior environments quickly as well. Same power stations, same water towers, same dark zones. The fact that night chases are shit easy and prone to exploit means there's no threat there any more either.
Now with Elden Ring, I can't see myself returning to this for quite some time.
I did have fun with it though, so maybe that's okay. There's no rush. I'll go back when I'm in the mood.

Yeah, I enjoyed my time with it but have some of the same gripes. If I hadn't finished it when I did it would doubtlessly have ended up on my pile of shame due to Horizon/D2.

I think those criticisms are totally fair. There's a lot of cookie-cutter environments, and it's not nearly as tense as the first (especially once you get a powerful bow). I did think it felt a lot better though in terms of combat and parkour, and that kept me coming back. Overall, a slight disappointment despite it getting its hooks into me for a good portion.

Also, 500 hours lol...I mean, we knew that was bullshit, but what is the claim based on? Repeatedly doing the same dark zones?

I think that was for doing every side quest and witnessing every possible story branch. First part fair enough some people might do. The story branch would require a complete playthrough of the game for each choice seeing as there's only a single save file. Nobody in their right mind is going to do that!

I can only imagine multiple playthroughs to get all the various dialogue options and subtle story branches would amount to the 500 hours. Which no one will do. Ever.

Ah, fair enough, that makes a lot more sense - while as you both say being very silly indeed. It does explain why at the end a series of single lines about what happened to who, what etc are shown. These are presumably the variables related to your choices (that's a very general spoiler about the end, no specifics included)

I am still playing it nightly. Traversal is brilliant, but story is bobbins. Disappointed that so much stuff dz etc is all the same, yet like raking about climbing & exploring.
I will keep playing, but probably agree the first was better. Not massively far into the story. Only a few main missions in once you reach the 'main' area.
Gone back to the start to hoover anomalies, inhibitors & parkour points for now though

I'd actually love some DLC that wasn't story-based but expanded the free roaming elements / activities in the world.
