It's wide rather than deep, to be fair. But that's fine.

Oh it's a 9/10 for me, my favourite game for a long time.

Yeah I wouldn't say it's particularly deep but it's very much meeting my expectations. It's pretty much what I thought I would be playing but unfortunately feels a bit over familiar because of that. Whilst I'm really enjoying it, I don't find myself excited to play it, but that could be because a) Elden Ring is all I care about and b) I'm a dried withered husk of a man.
Yet I still think it's excellent. I know. I'm not making sense.

In summary: It's brilliant but I don't find myself thinking it's brilliant when I'm playing it, even though I love it. It's everything I hoped for, but suffers because of that.
Simple.

I’m enjoying it without being blown away. I do also feel like I’ve already seen everything it has to offer.

Tbh it feels like the kind of game I'd get burned out on pretty quickly. I imagine it will be heavily discounted in 6 months or so, so I'll pick it up then when I want something a bit brainless (lol) to play.

It has colour-coded loot, but it's not really much of a focus (so far at least). I quite often forget to check what new weapons and armour I've picked up.

Yeah I forget I've picked stuff up half the time. I do like how it's all specced towards builds, so can probably have a bit of an experimentation later on.

Thanks. I guess. Still in a bit of a gaming crisis. Guardians of the Galaxy bored me within hours. All I am playing is Nioh 2, but after 200 hours or so…

Yeah I wouldn't play this for a loot fix. It has it, but I don't give it any heed. I only look at one number, the damage, and that's it. Equip highest damage weapon, chop legs arms and heads off until it breaks, equip high damage weapon, continue.

I think the only difference loot-wise is that on armour and gear higher rarities have extra lines of stat bonuses, whilst on weapons they provide extra mod slots.
As mentioned though, there’s loads of it but it makes very little real difference.

UncleLou I'm grumbling, but I really like this. It's good simple fun. Though Elden Ring isn't far off, if you can wait a couple of weeks and want something kind of Nioh-ish. Kind of.

Erm, chases are a bit broken aren't they. Stood near a UV light source and got as far as level 3 before morning came. Didn't even need the UV, just kept smashing heads in to get about 40 odd trophies. It was like the church scene in kingsmen. I think volatiles were spawning in but they went down just as fast.

Yep. You can cheese nearly everything in the game. Especially once you can craft explosive arrows that can one-shot nearly any enemy the game is basically Zombie Saints Row. Which is still fun, but I’m definitely getting some fatigue with it now.

Trophy drops are bloody stingy, so I'll probably try that cheese tbh. I've only upgraded a handful of blueprints so far and doubt I'll get anything to max level at this rate.

I was in the middle of a bandit camp when suddenly it thought I was in a chase, but with no timer or countdown. Runners/biters/whatever would just spawn and idle around, so I just kept kiting them together and blew them all up. Trophies galore.

It's really not that bad once you "get it". The initial learning curve is rough but it's so much fun to play you'll push through it. You'll be fine if you're ok with Nioh.

I am beginning to laugh at the amount of times Aiden gets knocked out or loses consciousness. It's kind of ridiculous.

It does seem to happen an awful lot. I'm just happy that I've finally been properly able to kill Barney, the little twat . I am sad about Hakon turning out to be a double crossing wanker though. I liked him. Finding myself actually caring about what's happening, much to my surprise.

Think I'm happy to have waited and keep waiting, my mate has had the "deathloop/death cycle" glitch. Went to help a player, player afk (of course!) backed out, back into his own game and it happened. 17 hours played! I know it is on their list to fix but still, bloody frustrating and how the feck is there no manual save system!

It's been patched now. First lot of fixes rolled out.
There's something about tech lands zombie games that just keeps me playing them. I love them.

They're just a lot of fun to play. A lot of the parkour puts mirrors edge catalyst to shame too.
Story so far (very early days for me) is shite so far.
Like climbing stuff a lot though.
Bumping into volatiles, not so much.

I'm getting a bit invested in some characters which is nice. I do get engrossed easily mind you.
The parkour is, quite simply, fucking sublime.
Edit: sweet, made it to the second map.
