Eco mode on your washing machines, y'all. Takes an age, but uses a lot less energy. I'll have to give that a try. Think I used it once and just assumed it was using less water or something. Hard to believe a washing machine running for 3-4 hours uses less power than one hour. Just because it’s on longer doesn’t mean more power, non eco mode will drive the system harder. Also on a similar topic, use your dishwasher on eco mode instead of washing by hand + don’t rinse plates etc before, just scrape off anything bigger.

Not so much money saving but find ways to generate passive income or as it should be more rightly called mildly earned income.
Like if you create content for youtube then monetize the channel. Same with Twitch and YT streaming, do it. If you regularly play games, make music, dj or have some other interesting thing then set up a cam and mic and interact with people. You may not make much but if you were playing anyway then every little bit helps and some of the big streamers earn far too much.
Gaming can be another point, there are tournaments with cash prizes aimed at the average user these days so if you are really good at a particular game then that may work for you.
Burn some of that expensive electricity and put your GPU to work, high end cards can pull in up to and over 100 clams a month mining but since I know that will go down like a lead balloon then look at folding at homes options. At the very least your earnings are made by helping solve problems and searching for cancer cures. Also I believe it is possible now to rent out your GPU to help rendering in massive projects and for AI research.
Sell your art or photography. A lot of people just create or take pics as a personal hobby and may not be aware that you can sell it to places like shutterstock, getty, 500px or whichever alternative platform you are comfortable with.
If you are a teacher or have a particular skill set that is in demand you could make a course for Udemy or Coursera types.
There are also a number of apps that reward users for playing games, watching ads and taking surveys with money and or gift cards.
Monetize your writing if that's your thing, places like Medium pay for content for bloggers with a reach. There may be better platforms though.

I would get my boobs out online for a few quid but I'm not sure the demand is there for me.

You could also sell your organs and children. You'll cut down your expenditures with the latter so it's an especially good option if you want a bit of extra spending money

My missus was seriously considering selling her farts in a jar when she saw what that woman was making. I warned her the slight drawback is prolapsing to meet simp fart jar demand, but she would not be put off.

Check your home for draughts. Cheap draught excluders, thermal tapes etc can be bought from DIY shops and make a big difference to your heating costs. Check all windows, doors, letterboxes etc. Makes the world of difference to your heating costs.
Ditto thick curtains over doorways and large windows. And checking your heating timer to make sure you're only heating when you need it.
Slightly fiddlier/more expensive/impractical for renters is fitting thermostatic radiator valves to all your radiators EXCEPT the one in the same room as the thermostat.

I just told my missus no more Waitrose and M&S, we're going Asda and Aldi only, and she couldn't get the fart jar wholesale order in quick enough.

A mcdonalds double cheeseburger costs half the price of a quarter pounder with cheese, with the same meat content by weight, and freshly cooked burgers. Why are the burgers freshly cooked? Or more importantly, why are quarter pounder burgers not freshly cooked? Or do you just mean more recently due to higher turnover? I must know. Cavet - this might be out of date information. However, it used to be the case that the Quarter Pounder burgers were pre-cooked before they got to the restuaurent, and then re-heated. The big-mac patty, which is the same patty used in the hamburger, was cooked from raw meat.

If you care about freshness of produce not sure why you'd be in MacDonalds in the first place. Can't their buns last for 100 years or something?

Likely not a popular one on here but the easiest way to save money is to just quit drinking or at the very least cut down.
I haven't drank in years and wasn't a massive drinker anyway only having some each weekend and I was £200ish better off a month. Now I'm not getting drunk I'm not paying the taxis home, the cost of a dirty takeaway after, the extra smokes you always end up buying due to going overboard at the bar. All adds up.

Yeah, we were on it pretty much every day for a while and it soon adds up. Feels nice to go out for a meal with the money you would've literally pissed away.
This place has been very supportive of people trying to cut down or just realise that they have a problem to start with tbh. Not sure if I'd have as much control over it as I do now without some of the regulars. Even just lurking in other threads can help open your eyes enough to make a difference.

Also grow stuff, as much as you can in whatever space you have available. Even a well tended herb planter on a window could mean you never actually have to buy fresh or dried herbs again or at least the ones you are growing. But if you are lucky enough to have outside space then fill it up with as much as you can, most things will grow in pots and seeds can be found cheaply enough or for free in your food scrap bin.
If it's planned well you can always have something in season and if you have enough then you can easily make preserves for later. I've definitely come around to thinking that if everyone did this the world would be a much better place. Plus you would be offsetting as much carbon as possible and reducing strain on the supply chain which isn't exactly green as it is.

Earn big money by displaying a "How's my driving?" sign with a £1.50 per minute 0800 number. The car's nearly paid for itself.

Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Cut down on your Waitrose order, no posh grub left inside.

I guess the biggest saving is: add value to your house then remortgage for a better rate. Also use a broker.
Soz renters.

The other thing mortgage-wise is that rates tend to drop every 5% of LTV you hit. So before a remortgage overpay to hit those (if you can).

If you can afford it, investigate overpaying your mortgage. You’ll often find that it’ll save you thousands in the long run.

Eco mode on your washing machines, y'all. Takes an age, but uses a lot less energy. oh really? Didn't know this I thought it just used less water. But because it was longer I just assumed it used more energy, so never bothered with it. Good to know. Also, grow your own weed. A lot of people over complicate the process but honestly it's called weed for a reason, it grows very easily.

About 10 months early for most times this would be relevant, but don’t make your own fruit cake. Costs about 10 times as much as a decent store bought one and won’t be as good.

I don’t believe any sane person makes their own puff or filo. Fuck that. Even if it was cheaper to make your own I still wouldn’t bother.
