I'm glad that we've really sought to reclaim our heritage as THE SICK MAN OF EUROPE. Proper taking back control right there.

Didn't former user Psychotext have a new build, and it was continually giving me him difficulties? Everyone I know that’s has a new build has had an issue. I had one for a while and when it rained water dropped from the light fitting, the balcony was hanging off the wall at a weird angle too. Still, got a 20% increase in what I paid when I sold it after 4 years.

We bought a new build last year (from a smaller local developer) very nice finishing and in a lovely small development, but we've had snagging issues for 18 months. only just about finished with it all. Absolute ballache.

I had to threaten the management company with reporting them to the council and health and safety before they fixed the roof (top floor flat). It still took 6 months.

A UN group of experts finds ‘solid evidence’ that Kigali is supporting M23 fighters despite repeated denials. oh FFS, getting to Gatwick is gonna be more of a nightmare now.

Help is coming guys, if you could just wait until September when we announce our new leader because the current one doesn't want to do fuck all, nor does the current chancellor who only took the job to say he was Chancellor and not have anyone look too closely into his own tax affairs and also we can't be arsed too because we're infighting about how best to fuck you over. Anyway, don't forget we are the party of stability and responsibility.

Yes, remember to send a meter reading in at the end of this month people if you’re not on a smart meter

Were still on our fixed EDF tariff so none of this pricing mess has affected us yet. February is going to be a different story.
can't see any way that the hot tub will remain heated to 34° 24/7.

My dad just got rid of his. Having to warm it up for four or five hours kind of takes the fun out of it.

Ours will be down when they go back to school and not be coming out next year. It's cost an extra £70-90 a month (depending on the temperature), not really justifiable but at least it's been used lots. No way we can justify nearly £200+ a month extra. Fun while it lasted.

Would imagine most of the inflatable hot tub companies will be disappearing over the next year or so.

My neighbors have gone on holiday abroad and left their hot tub on. I know it's set to 37c, so that going to be costing them.
You've reminded me I'm supposed to have done a meter reading by tomorrow, so best I get up and do that.

Yes, remember to send a meter reading in at the end of this month people if you’re not on a smart meter October I thought? No, OFGEM decided to increase the frequency of cap reviews because they are utterly supine cunts and not at all in the pocket of energy companies, so the cap goes up this week.

Just been looking at my energy bills and they are already going up concerningly. I think I'll need to see what we can do without if it's potentially doubling next week.
Those echo devices can be cut back and I think we can start turning things off at the wall. Maybe I can just use a single monitor for work and I need to double check that all my light bulbs are as energy efficient as possible.

It terrifies me opening this thread at the moment and I'm on a decent salary. I'm too scared to use electric or gas, my mortgage needs renewing this year and no way could I afford a house now if I had to start over). I'm appalled that the energy companies are making so much money and that they and buy to let aren't dealt with. I've about £300 a month "spare" after essentials at the moment and that's going to be more than gone by this time next year. We've already figured we're going to have to go back to the 70s this winter and not use the central heating anywhere near as much as we did. Get the mortgage renewal in ASAP before the rates rise anymore. We got offered a much better rate at the back end of last year before it was due in February with the same provider (Halifax) We got lucky looking at how things are going. Nursery fees from next year to pay are going to make things incredible tough for us I think that's before I even think about the cost of energy with a current direct debit of £109. I may yet consider a 2nd job at this rate something I really don't want to be doing like the guy I was working with on Friday who after finishing his 9-5 shift with me was getting the train for another job till 2am. 18 hours in a day plus whatever else he'd done the rest of the week. No thanks.

Being on a prepayment meter as the bills always seemed to be comparable to people we knew on billed payments we only very rarely give them meter readings. Are we likely to get screwed over if we don't on a prepayment meter or is this for those with monthly bills? (Obviously we are all getting screwed over with the increases but any more than if I don't bother giving a reading)

I'm not great at the scary finances like pensions, tax returns and mortgages. Right. I better read something else or I'm not going to sleep tonight.
