I'd also plan for the future. You might live alone at the moment and want things to stay that way, but things change. Go as big as you can now. Meaning?

You keep saying you live alone so only need small output. Just saying that might change, so if you can afford to now, up that a bit in case things change.

Can you still sell excess to the grid now or is that a bust?

I think you still can? They just don't pay very much for it any more...
Whereas it used to be quite lucrative if you could generate enough.
Tbh, I was thinking about it, if only to get a heat pump later but there prices now are hilarious. They're literally gouging people because of the rise in other costs.
The magic of the market, eh?

Innit. I have a new boiler about to go in, I fully expect that to jump by a couple of hundred too.

Tbf my partner lives with me at the moment but she's buying her own place, as she wants on the ladder too. Our current usage is about 2600kwh per year. If you're suggesting what I think you're suggesting - marriage and kids are not on the cards, ever, with anyone. My plan is to retire/ semi retirement around 50-55 and die alone. My estate will go to friends or charity.

As long as you are having sex kids are never fully off the cards, birth control is never a guarantee.
Go get yourself a vasectomy or it's only ever a bit of bad luck away.

I think you are massively underestimating my vetting process of who I sleep with and also my willingness to actually be a parent.

Not really, unless you are ensuring they are infertile they can get pregnant even using birth control.

Bonus if they leave him something in their will towards his early retirement.

Nah, I just choose people with the same outlook and views. It's really not that difficult. Most of my female friends don't want kids.

There is no reason to go small, because the largest part of the cost doesn't come from the panels. At least it was like that, not sure how the prices have changed with the latest shortage. But it used to be that the panels were only a third or even less of the total cost, so it didn't make sense to go smaller than your whole available area.
It actually was the case that panels were almost getting down into the price realm of regular roof tiles for a short while.
These statements are made from my local offerings in Switzerland, maybe it differs from place to place. Also there was a HUGE price difference between different suppliers. Like 300% spread. For the same roof, same area.

I'm in a small house. Most I can realistically get is 5 panels. I've had one quote me for 7 but most are saying they just get it off Google earth, which I'm not happy with.
When I ask them if they do a site visit to check, there's a big difference in response. One bloke practically hung up on me, while others said a site visit is a requirement.

Kind of off topic but has anyone tried MenopausalDating.com? I've got a voucher for a 2 week premium account and wanted to know if it was worth signing up?
