Going up from extortionate £155 to £213 from April 1st if I take my providers "recommendation".

Mines £690 per year for electricity and about £550 for gas.
It's a big jump but I'm in a 2 bed apartment. Plus I'm on the top floor so can just suck up all that sweet heat from neighbours like a vampire.

All the energy provider websites have crashed. Impossible to login and give a meter reading ahead of the price hike.

Useful reminder, thanks. Shell have set up a way to submit readings via a support ticket.

Need to do that shortly. Octopus have a message saying prices don't change until Saturday at midnight, so take the reading then. Take a photo to submit if worried etc.

I've been submitting metres readings to women all my life! Sounds impressive until they see the zero after the decimal point.

This genuinely feels like the last night of peace before a war is declared. Not to downplay Ukraine but I haven't felt anything like this in my lifetime - a national feeling of dread.
I'm moderately safe from it. Obviously, it would be nice to be better off but I can feel it on the streets, in my town. It's like everyone's holding their breath.
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see riots within 2 years, not unlike poll tax.

All done in plain sight without anyone giving much of a fuck. Especially those who this will hit hardest.

They are in a spiral at the moment and their refusal to increase tax on rich people is going to fuck the whole country soon.
