Thought I'd make a thread for talking about and showing off your rare gaming stuff, or just your favourite items. I collect DS games, and over the last few years I've managed to get hold of quite a few of the more sought after titles, especially some of the Atlus ones (The Dark Spire, Etrian Odyssey 1,2, and 3, Radiant Historia, all the SMT games they released for DS/3DS) and also the 3 Castlevanias, all the Dragon Quests released for the system, as well as some more obscure titles like the one DS Atelier game released in English (Atelier Annie, Alchemists of Sera Island) An American copy of Ghost Trick took me a while to track down, mainly because I vastly prefer the box art to the UK release. There's just something about the physical DS boxes/carts that really appeals to me. Particularly thr slimmer more compact US versions. As it's a relatively low powered system the games seem to rely on gameplay > graphics which I also like a lot. The DS being region free means it's a good system to collect for, but you have to watch out for fakes as there are a lot about (mainly Pokemon) I love collecting for the DS, a lot of my favourite games of all time are on that system, and I don't think Nintendo will ever top it. Anyway, show off your stuff!

I don't have any of it to hand as it's either in my loft or my parents', but off the top of my head I'd say my Amiga 1200 and all the boxed Amiga games I have (including the three Lemmings games and the first two Monkey Islands). I've even got disk trays full of, ahem, "boxless" games, shall we say. All still in my parents' loft.
Other than that, I've got (in my own loft) a bunch of tat that came with various special editions of games, when I used to go in for that sort of thing. A big Gears cog tag, the Spartan helmet that came with Halo 3, etc. I've even got a set of worry balls that came with my Black & White pre-order.
I have sold or donated some stuff though, including a load of Virtua Tennis merch that I was sent when I worked at CITV. That included a jacket, sweat bands, and a sports bag, which sadly got really damp and damaged somehow so I had to throw it away. I've got a photo of me with all the gear somewhere, taken in around 2008 or so I think.

I don't know that I necessarily any prized gaming possessions, but I have a big fondness for my PS1 and PS2 library. Not only were they my favorite period in gaming, but I purchased a lot of niche titles at the time, so I have tons of rare games without having spent a premium on them.
Things like Shinobi and Nightshade, the SMT titles of the era like Persona 2, the Raidous, the Digital Devil Sagas, SMT3... Vagrant Story, Silhouette Mirage, the big Working Designs boxes for the Lunar games.

My boxed Neo Geo AES, which I swapped for an original Xbox that I'd picked up second hand at buy-in price from the shop I worked at for £65. Came with 3 games, none of them especially valuable, although I haven't checked in years

Playing Devil Survivor on DS is what got me into SMT, and I have bought both the Raidou games in the last year or so. They cost a lot these days I do love my Raido Jack Bro plushie though!

Probably my Zelda collection, which is mostly 3DS, DS, Switch and Wii games. My absolute favourites are on the PS2 which I have pretty much every game I loved, and apart from one they are cheap as to get. The Thing, Psychonauts, Gregory Horror Show, Beyond Good & Evil.. Also got some games that are worth a bit, but wouldn't say they were a favourite. Probably shift them one day when I'm bored of collecting.

It's difficult to tell these days with all the graded game shenanigans, which means you have categories of prized in terms of value and prized and in terms of sentimental value and the time you spent with the game.
Some of my older games are supposedly at a level of value where I don't even dare to touch them anymore. I just don't have a spare £500-600 to replace my copy of Harmful Park for instance.
The N64 version of Resident Evil 2 got me into a whole new World of games I'd been missing out on, then I sold it because I managed to find the NTSC version cheap. It was better right? The PAL version went for a fair bit of money and it seemed like a sound decision at the time. But I'll never have that copy back that got me into a whole genre of games and led to me gaming on non-Nintendo gaming platforms. So I've got a factory sealed NTSC copy of Resident Evil 2 for the N64 sitting on a shelf, I'm sure it's worth a bit in terms of monetary value but it's not my copy of the game, the one that I played.

Loads. All in boxes somewhere. Big plans to get them all on display once my house is sorted. PS2 RE chainsaw, loads of Game & Watches, sealed steelbooks, original Pocket Simon, a headbutted Astro Wars, Pac Man, Neo Geo Pocket, purple GC and more.

Something I'd love to do if I had the money - or, really, the space - is collect old computers. 80s micro type stuff. I've got a couple of Spectrum 48s from car boot sales, and my A1200 from back in the day (sadly I gave away my A500), but I'd love to get a C64, an Acorn, a BBC... Maybe not an Atari, though. Some prejudices are hard to shake.

Sold almost everything for a relative pittance a few years back. Really regret it now, especially my DC stuff. Still have an Amiga 500+ and games in my parents garage, but it's probably fucked.

I've nearly always regretted selling gaming stuff so I try to keep hold of everything now, unless it's something I really don't like. Over the years I've got rid of loads of stuff that I wish I still had

Not much game-wise really. Not a collector. Best things I've got are some figures that are pretty nice P3 Aigis
Mitsuru Elizabeth (I'm pretty sure I've got two of these because of an order mix up)
Tharja from FE:A (It was a gift) Alicia from VC And these
I've also got Chie and Kanji from P4. All unopened, in the orignal boxes

I'm not sure about putting women in jars. Seems like something a serial killer might do. I'd actually just display those smaller ones. I got Alter Aigis out of print so she cost a decent amount

Not my pic as I don't have it to hand, but I do love my Gameboy Micro NES edition. It's such a gorgeous little device, looks and feels lovely. It's probably not the best game system ever, given that it's whole thing was being tiny, and smartphones basically made it obsolete, but it's just awesome. I used to use it on the train every day, back before the iPhone. I also love my Gamecube - little purple box of joy. I had to get rid of most of my game boxes a while ago, but I still have the proper big box versions of Tie Fighter Collector's Edition, Doom2, Jedi Knight and Terminator: Future Shock, which still have that great chunky feel and cardboard smell.

A PAL cartridge of Demon's Crest (SNES) complete with pristine package and manual, which I snatched on eBay a few years ago for €15 (bid €1 or instabuy for €15). Looking it up on eBay now, people are trying to sell it for about €600.
Shame the game's not as good as its Gargoyle's Quest predecessors and I certainly wouldn't want to play the PAL version.

You might want to check that, I cleared out my mum's attic a few years back, and my a1200, a500, game gear, gameboy color and neo geo were all dead.

There was a very short period between the time I got disposable income and the time games became predominantly digital, so my physical collection of games consists of a single-digit number of DVD boxes. However, I do have a signed boxed copy of Zeno Clash, which I obtained when I visited the ACE Team office in Santiago, so that's by far the best gaming-related thing I have.
