What genre should we play next: techno, jazz flute, rock or hip hop?
Yes.

Yeah I'm liking this new song, not an all time classic but at least as good as most of their stuff post-Meteora

David Gilmour Luck and Strange yes I still love this man, thanks "Dave" Only listened through twice so far but seems more of a spiritual follow up to the classic OAI then RTL* certainly a far easier listen then DSOTM Redux! although I do not hate that... *Acronym hell

6 Music playing Divide and Dissolve on the air like instrumental doom metal is perfectly normal daytime radio.
To be fair though Divide and Dissolve are probably the most 6 Music of doom bands.
And now they're following it up with Black Sabbath - Iron Man.
I'm not complaining about any of at all, quite the contrary, just very pleasantly surprised.

I know Rollins is a bit of a dick... but early 90s Rollins Band is proper good stuff, and I've always loved this glorious performance of Liar at Reading '94. Been blasting their 1994 album Weight a lot recently!

I meant "bit of a dick" in a jovial sense, because he is. Or maybe he just was in the Black Flag / Rollins Band days, I don't know. But I like him.

Rollins gave the best spoken word show I've ever been too.
Funny, self-deprecating, opinionated, yet informative and entertaining. I think he would have spoken for days if he had been given the chance.
I would probably have stayed to listen too.

I’m a big fan of Rollins spoken word stuff but I think you can draw a fairly hard line and point to when he started to lighten up. There’s some good stuff beforehand but I think Shock & Awe is the point when he starts to stretch his legs comedically and from then on its all good. His description of seeing Kiss in San Bernardino is glorious. Even seeing him last year he was delivering. You’ll not find many comics who’d go out and talk for 2-3hrs without an intermission and he’s funnier that a lot of big comedians I’ve seen in similar sized and larger venues too.
I think I’m the only person whose favourite Mogwai album is Rave Tapes but those synths and the vocoder just do it for me

Definitely niche. I love Mogwai, but beyond listening to it a fair bit on release, I don't think that's one I would break out regularly. I did like it at the time though.
Maybe it's time to revisit it!

Watched the live stuff recently on YouTube? Wasn't sure at first but I like the new sound and I wasn't a fan of the later stuff after Meterora.

Maybe it's time to revisit it! Its very understated but I like that its not trying to be epic or anything, its just got a real hypnotic groove to it.

I was a big fan of Benefits first album, and their live shows have been incredible, but I can totally understand why people might have bounced off them.
They've just released their new track and apparently this is the direction they are now going in. Gone is the wall of noise (and a couple of band members, though they went through drummers like crazy) but the synths remain - its got a very Hotline Miami vibe.

This is a bit unsettling, and weird and maybe slightly unnerving, and not sure I like it but I find it captivating. (So I think I like it)
Reminds me of the Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher soundtracks simultaneously.

Enjoying using working from home as an excuse to listen to CDs that have been filed away for awhile
Every song on this album sounds completely different but it somehow comes together perfectly.
