Wire - On the Box
I don't think I really 'got' Wire until I watched/heard this. It's brilliant.

The new metallica album: the absolute definition of an album everyone listens to once, calls 'a return to form' and files it away with the last few albums they said exactly the same thing about and never listened to again.

I was just coming to post that it a) sounds fine and b) sounds like I’d never listen to it again after the first week
I know they’re not a prolific band so there hasn’t been loads of new material to but but it still feels odd to have no desire to buy their new release for the first time since I got into them in the mid-late 90s.
Its a shame they don’t swing anymore. Load/ReLoad had some grooves, this seems mostly like Lars has spent the weekend with his old NWOBHM albums but didn’t have the hooks to hang the choruses on.

Re: the latest Metallica, judging from the songs I've listened to so far, at least it has some decent production, which is more than can be said about their releases after Load/Reload...

Liking this a lot. Do keep listening through at least the second track - the opening Overture is good, but sounds like movie soundtrack music… the songs are very different and eclectic!

Having listened to Sweet Jane a bunch of times over the years, I actually listened to some other songs by the Cowboy Junkies yesterday. They're pretty good.

Suicidal Tendencies - S/T
Also...
Thanks, YouTube. I'm OK though, honestly.
I'm not sure if that's funny or just actually a really sad comment on the state of the internet these days.

The new album is a bloody belter - really enjoying it. I'm going to buck the trend a bit on the new 'tallica album, I've enjoyed it, a few of the songs have even made it onto my spotfiy playlist of them (I usually whack a list of tracks from artists that mix classics and my favourites and shuffle them when in the mood for a specific artist) and whilst most of the tracks are heavy on the pre load era there are a few tracks from Death Magnetic, Hardwired and now 72 Seasons.

Just came up on a shuffle on my YouTube Music Supermix:
Probably as good a use of that Three Dog Night sample (see: Big Daddy Kane, Handsome Boy Modelling School) as I've heard.

Just spent too much (low scalping price but a scalping price nonetheless) on the hard to come by 2011 Siamese Dream double LP.
Brilliant presentation of a brilliant album.

Watching Coachella highlights on youtube my main thoughts are; I don’t know who most of these big artists are, I admire Blink 182 for playing a show this huge and going in sounding like they haven’t rehearsed in a decade and holy shit Bjork still got it

The Hives - Bogus Operandi Fucking loved seeing them live as The Offsprings' support act about 18 months ago.
