I'm currently flicking between Taylor swift, slayer, boy harsher and let's eat grandma. Now that's one hell of a mix.

Nia Archives. A weird Jungle/Garage/RnB mashup. Probably hated by purists of those genres but I'm digging it youtu.be/ppBBlJ739XU

Oh wow I just discovered bleachers. Reminds me of Bruce Springsteen and loving the MTV unplugged set on Spotify.

Nia Archives. A weird Jungle/Garage/RnB mashup. Probably hated by purists of those genres but I'm digging it youtu.be/ppBBlJ739XUIt kind of is. I absolutely love her but some (a lot) of my friends are very purist about the sound and have kind of handwaved her away. Its just the kids taking the sound and making it their own, though. The scene has now been around long enough for old men to gatekeep it. 'One thing' samples Columbo, so that makes her great in my book. Another lady who is doing work is Sherelle. If you like Nia Archives, check out her Fabric mix on spotify which is absolutely banging. Solahs 'King' is also in the same ball park. Really good album. Tbh, one of the reasons I like them is that I have grown out of the absolute diamond hard, dancefloor D&B stuff. I'm a viebz guy now so pretty much just listen to hospital stuff now (which my crew call 'coffee table jungle'). Mitekiss - Bolivian Hotel Bistro Etherwood - Neon Dust Are both absolutely brilliant.

I'll have to check out Sherelle. I really like all the Nia Archives stuff I've heard so far.

Blood Incantation are primarily a death metal band. A bit too technical for my tastes (I like my death metal more caveman-like I guess), so didnt really get into them. However they also did a really nice ambient album comprised almost entirely of analogue synths. Frankly, give me anything with a repeating analog synth pattern I'm likely to enjoy it, but this is pretty great. Reminds me of SURVIVE at their most ambient, I guess. Or the Mass Effect soundtrack. etc.

That takes me back. I had that on a compilation album back in the days when you only had a handful of albums so you listened to them to death. I've never actually heard another song by them, or half the other bands on that album. But they're a big part of my youth. [Edit] found it:

Why is this thread mentioning all the songs I used to listen to in the car when I was a teenager? Simple Minds Live in the city of light. This is a band on top of their game, stunning performances of many great tracks including Ghostdacing, East at Easter, Big Sleep, Book of brilliant things (sublime version), Oh jungleland et al. The only real negative is no Forbes on Bass, even with that it is one of my fav albums of all time. I used to listen to this all the time when driving to/from school. Then I was told it wasn't cool... now I'm old enough that I don't care. Plus Breakfast Club *fist in air* I think it was what I was listening to when I rolled my car on the way to school. Might possibly have been a contributing factor

Bill in the rain there’s some bloody great tracks on there. What’s happening on this thread might be a product of how old we all are.

Not a metal fan at all, but as someone who just recently emerged from 5 year long synthwave rabbit hole, this is awesome.

A friend mentioned this band and he described it as "Jefferson Airplane, but doom", and that's not an inaccurate description to my ears. It's great.
