This is my pump up music for doing the dishwasher. I love a bit of Nick Cave

I went through a couple of years of listening to nothing but Cave and Cohen (because I'm deep). Absolutely love them to bits

What a fucking track. It's immense throughout, but I love the outro synths from the fourth minute onward.

Was doing my usual Bandcamp browsing, came across some nice synth-lead goth. Makes me want to drink absinthe in a dark room.

Back in the late 90s in college my mate made me join his band that played stuff like this, I was in to grunge and blues so it was more of a favour than anything lol. Really fucking weird, turning up to band practice with candles and skulls and stuff lying around, everyone else turning up all in black, there's me with my ripped jeans, converse and Hendrix t-shirt. I lasted one gig then found a more suitable band

They should have put Freedom of Speech on the original version. It's a much better track than Cop Killer.

Songs for the Deaf is 20 today.
In my biased opinion one of the great rock and roll albums within that time.
I'm listening to this on repeat all day.

Just had this brought to my attention. Pellek who does rock covers of Anime songs was asked to make the OP for an actual anime and it's a glorious piece of old-school rock/metal. Good on him.

Tedeschi Trucks Band just dropped their fourth album this year, all tied into a loose concept of the ancient Persian tale/poem Layla and Majnun (which is where the Derek and the Dominoes title came from, but that was really about Pattie Boys/Harrison). Anyway if you like masterfully performed, gentle southern rock with a big band and a very large soul and gospel influence they are a lovely listen. Susan Tedeschi is a beautiful singer and Derek Trucks is for me the best and most unique guitarist going in this space - although he doesn't let loose as much on the records and serves the songs more. Anyway they have released a video covering the entirety of each release so here is the new one. youtu.be/dd3E82oNrxQ

One band who really deserved more success is Aereogramme. A Scottish alternative rock band, stradling the alternative-rock / indie / post-rock / post metal boundary. In my head they fit alongside post-metal band Isis as easily as indie-rock/folk band The Decemberists (or at least their Crane Wife album).
I particularily like their fourth release, Seclusion.

I loved their last album but this seems more of the same. I thought it opened the door to them having a Bowie-esque transformation between records but going by this I guess not, not yet anyway.

Not as catchy as the other tracks released from the album, but I don't hate it.

This song is very much appropriate in this day and age. I was going to post the actual official video but this video is better.
