Love a bit of Nick Cave. Top albums are probably Let Love In, The Good Son and Kicking Against The Pricks.

No Boatman's Call or Skeleton Tree? The latter I think in particular is his best music in the last decade, easily.

I like Murder Songs and Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus.
I quite like Ghosteen too.
I find the man a bit annoying but he's a good artist.

Drive-By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera Can never decide between this or Decoration Day when I need my Drive-By Truckers fix. Both quality albums.

Love The Birthday Party, quite like Grinderman, but the Bad Seeds have never clicked with me.
Maybe I'll give 'em another try.

Drive-By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera Can never decide between this or Decoration Day when I need my Drive-By Truckers fix. Both quality albums. Both great, indeed. Although Decoration Day has the benefit of Jason Isbell's muscular writing and playing whilst his relationship with the band was still great. The following records were rather plagued by writing issues as he, Hood and Cooley jousted over the differing ideas that eventually led to Isbell leaving - although the Dirty South has some very good bits. I saw them tour SRO (with Isbell, who joined on that tour) and they were great, one of the best bands I've seen live. I think a lot of their power comes from Hood and Cooley's musical relationship. I also very much like Brighter Than Creation's Dark, the Big To-Do and American Band. And Isbell's solo stuff / 400 Unit is very good, too.

That tour sounds amazing. I'd give most things to see Isbell sing Outfit live.

They played ONE european date (in Amsterdam) in 2002 and we moved heaven and earth to go see it. It was very good, but I don't think they played Outfit - which wasn't recorded until the following record, iirc? I do remember them playing Ronnie & Neil, 72, Women Without Whiskey, Zip City and Don't Cockblock the Rock, though. He and the 400 Unit are on tour currently and I think they're due to play the UK in the Autumn, mind you.

I'm guessing O'Malley's Bar is a personal favourite I don't think there's a bad Bad Seeds album

There's a song by Daughter called Peter that was only ever released on a CD that came free with an issue of Mojo back in 2011. It's still my favourite song by them and it's before they released any albums, but it doesn't exist online at all, only a live version and a rerecording from 2018 which is nowhere near as good.
So, actually I'm not listening to that, even though I want to.
Dammit, I'm going to have to find that CD now.

I wonder if I put it up on YouTube whether it would get flagged as a copyright violation? Given it doesn't exist anywhere else.

I saw them - I was going to say a few years back, but actually it's MUCH longer, first album tour! - on the Thekla in Bristol and it was the closest thing I think I've had to a genuine spiritual experience. A load of old punks, skate punks and punk kids in the world's friendly pit, going mental and Keith leading us all like some demonic cheerleader. Sweaty, exhilarating and very, very good. Dmitri is also one of the best guitarists I think I've ever seen play live and obvs, Mario is Mario. The song is still good, even without that amazing rhythm section they originally had.

Sounds like an awesome show, dude!
Dmitri was the reason I got into Off! in the first place, as I liked Burning Brides and jumped at the chance to hear him play guitar again.
