Evidence - Cats and Dogs
Might be my favourite use of Jackson Browne ever.

Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies.
Stone cold classic of an album.

It's that falsetto verse and the scattato rhythm that nails it in this one. "We're not Cream!" "We know you aren't Cream but we know what you're up to!" /side-eye

New Yeah Yeah Yeah's album incoming? Yeah.Β I know βreturn to formβ is usually reserved for the most recent Coldplay and U2 albums but I absolutely love this song. Been listening to it on a loop since it came out. It genuinely hit me like Maps did.

Silent Movie by Quiet Village. Think 70's incidental movie music meets chill. Sounds better than my piss poor description.

I'm going to see Beck in London tonight. Thought I'd check out the setlists for his recent UK dates to see what I'm for.
38 songs in Manchester 39 songs played in London.
What on earth am I getting into?! Is he also playing as the support acts? Hahaha

Whatever happened to Dido? Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong has released. few albums in recent years. If they're as annoying as the earlier ones, I couldn't say.

Maverick Sabre's first two albums. Pretty brilliant really and it's a shame his next two weren't as consistent. One of the best live performances I've ever seen before.

Look at me, down the yoot and listening to a new band.
In all seriousness though, Nova Twins are great. Frequent comparisons are made to Rage Against The Machine because Georgia South does some ridiculous pedal effect tomfoolery on the bass, but I get more of a Prodigy vibe, maybe even touching on late period PWEI.

Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong jesus. No wonder she shortened it to Dido! Look at me, down the yoot and listening to a new band. In all seriousness though, Nova Twins are great. That did not go where I thought it was going to go!

One of the best gigs I've been to was seeing IDLES at the Eden Project. Fuck me, I love this band SO much. Ultra Mono got a lot of criticism, but I absolutely loved it. That being said, their last album was probably the best yet, did n't stop listening to it for months, and it is a great workout album.

I am currently listening to Deloused in the Comatorium to celebrate the fact that The Mars Volta are back.
New single is okay, less heavy than my preferred stuff, and you can tell that they have a new drummer (he's still good, but for me Jon tied Omar and Cedri's eccentricities together perfectly). I also miss John Frusciante's presence, that period from Deloused to Frances the Mute was their golden period for me, but all their albums hold up very well.

Ultra Mono got a lot of criticism, but I absolutely loved it. Its a weird one. It, justifiably, took a lot of shit for lyrically being just Angry GCSE Politics but it has some of my favourite music on there. Kind of a shame they are going to stop playing stuff from it because there are a few absolute bangers on there but, content wise, I can absolutely see why they are dumping it.

Not the best lyrically, and it does seem very earnest in places (I know Model Village in particular got a lot of flak, but they came at it from the right place even if they feel a bit dirty about it now). Grounds is one of my favourite tracks of theirs across all albums, and then you have fucking bangers like Anxiety, War and especially Reigns. It's still a strong album, if a bit flawed in places. If them perceiving the album as bad is what led them to creating Crawler then I'm okay with it though, as Ultra Mono is still around (I've seen them play the great songs from it live) and they made an even better album and in The Beachland Ballroom one of their best ever tracks.

Tbh I might have overstated that, but it's just the some of the guitars-meet-dance-rythyms reminded me, though I guess they are fairly different.
