I wonder what the True Name is of the demon who infests his carcass.

Yeah just saw that. Pretty damn funny.
The suggested remedies are insane. Sell off COD and it's studios to another 3rd party dev.
Or sell pretty much everyone else and keep COD but keep it MP.
I can see MS having to keep COD off GP.
But it's another thing that reads we need to protect Sony.

Can I assume that the first post on this page is why Edge keeps asking if I want to translate to English?

We have celebrated the one year anniversary of this increasingly inaccurately-named thread with an appearance of that fucking cunt Bobby Kottick. I can’t recall seeing him in public for maybe ten or fifteen years, after he realised every time he opens his mouth customers wither away to dust.

So basically everyone publisher bar Sony has agreed terms with MS now in regards to COD.

Tbf every other publisher than Sony doesn't really have any interest in the deal, so they might as well agree (and I'm sure MS did some convincing, if you know what I mean).
I think this deal is ultimately gonna cost MS much more than 68 billions. Makes me think it's a mistake. But hey, they have the money to spend, so whatever. Just hope they won't eventually lay off more people.

The biggest thing really is the mobile side as console revenue is pure chump change to what Activision Blizzard make out of mobile revenue. I know for real that CoD mobile is insanely popular as well as Candy Crush still.

If this falls through, what is to stop Microsoft just buying year long exclusive deals for individual Activision Blizzard games, or just out right exclusives?

Nothing whatsoever. That's perfectly fair behaviour according to Sony and the regulators won't have a say in it because it's through a third party.

In 10 years COD could will probably be a dead franchise and MS a 3rd party publisher.

I honestly thought COD would have been dead almost 10 years ago.
I think microsoft will hang in there, but they will be releasing controllers and gaming subscriptions on any device that will allow it. And given the general cost of hardware, I can see it working.
I think Stadia was too soon, and not well executed, but Microsoft will have the money and legs to be there when it finally takes off.
And COD will probably still be a big deal.

Honestly what's to stop MS just buying COD? Then saying you might as well let us buy the rest now?

No surprise really. Sony have made some odd claims and now need to back it up especially seeing as regulators have taken those claims into account.

I'm not saying one company is really any better than the other but I've got a feeling this won't be a good look for Sony. I wonder if the details of their own arrangements will have the effect of nullifying some of their complaints.

Nvidia signing up seems to have done them a massive favour.
Sounds like China is also set to approve.

Is it just the UK holding out at this stage? Possibly unless they accept MS remedies though if things carry on like this MS will have enough approvals to seal the deal anyways. FTC seem to be stalling more than anything.
