Philipsen said he missed the attack (too far back) and the bunch was going flat or 6 towards the line be never thought anyone could have gotten away from that. He also had a problem with his radio.
Realised his mistake 5m past the line.
Just goes to show how hectic things are in those last 5k. Unlucky fort him.

Good thing about the attack on the climb is that Ineos managed to go with JV. Bodes well for the the rest of the tour if those two can slug it out. Should be fun. |

Wout happened? Tuned in just after. Vingegaard's chain jammed. He switched bikes with, I think Laporte, but it was comically large for him. He couldn't sit in the saddle. Was about to swap a second time with a smaller team mate when the team car showed up. Crossed the road just ahead of a large chasing group. Absolute chaos. |
