Played 6.5 hrs with 205/271 donuts and 10/15 Sleepies on my first run through gaining 65% of trophies. The first Sweet game I have finished too. An odd, slightly clunky, narrative platform puzzler. The puzzle mechanics are definitely a bit different by breaking yourself and using that to aid your goals. Th atmosphere was fairly interesting and most puzzles were fairly logical and I think I got the point of the plot. It was worth a play through and a game I kept meaning to play, being on PSPlus Premium finally forced me to do so.
Elsewhere not played as much So Nirvan Initiative or Yurukill as I would have liked... Did have a quick look at Returnal which might be fun too. My progress remains slow in the challenge this year.

More of an interactive film/series than actual game, with limited interaction and qte's (both of which you can make easier/slower) absolutely wonderful story though, well stories as you play several characters over the course of the game.

As Dusk Falls is a narrative game that takes you through the lives of 2 families that become entangled when a robbery goes wrong. The story takes place in the American Midwest and begins with Vince Walker and his family driving to their new home when they're hassled by the Holt brothers.
Me:
Totally work playing over an evening or two. Multiple paths and choices that do impact the game and story

Still a masterpiece all these years later. Planning to play all of them again, think I'll dig out the PS3 for 2 and 3 and then ready for 4, bosh.
Having a terribly slow time completing games these last few months. Doesn't help that all games I have on the go at the moment are long ones so nice to power through MGS.

Played through this unusual Visual Novel/Shmup hybrid, taking 24 hours to go through the story on normal. Also 1CCd the All Stages Shmup only game on normal (getting 12th score in the world on my first shot apparently...). The art, music, voice acting and story are quite well done and the shmup segments are surprisingly decent (made by G-Rev). Hard mode is a fair challenge on the shmup bits but with other factors in the story I switch to Normal for my playthrough.
The game has some simplish puzzles in the VN gameplay so isn't just reading, although it appears to only really have one route through the game (there are choices but they aren't that meaningful). The story has its mix of dark and silly and despite fitting a lot of anime stereotypes the characters are mostly decent too. Performance was also fine on the Switch bar an odd lag bringing up the message log in the VN bits. Also seems to miss a few VN niceties like skipping read text (not really necessary without routes) and being able to hide the text to admire the art.
Overall a fun change of pace from the usual VNs. I played it entirely handheld too. Next, will be finishing AI Nirvana Initiative or Shijima Story I think. And something else handheld to replace Yurukill. 12 games in 9 months sucks though, if I make it to 20 this year I will be impressed

After several false starts going all the way back to the original on 360, I absolutely love the game. For some reason I really struggled the map and quest markers for years, but at last it "clicked" and I was away.

After many years, finally completed Kiryu's story (although it was what, last week they announced he's a playable protagonist in Yakuza 8!) Tremendous game, significantly shorter than 4 and 5 but I genuinely think that was a good thing. Took me about 30 hours whilst 5 took me 65!
Will take a long break before doing either Judgement or 7, think now back to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Switch.

Uncover the disturbing secrets of Chernobyl in a 3D-scanned recreation of the real Exclusion Zone. from me: Excellent game, do not usually play Resource management games (didn't realise this was actually one!) and I probably did myself a disservice by not playing on a harder difficulty, in as much as I never felt I was in that much peril, nor that my comrades were. If I had played on higher settings I would have been forced into making decisions that may have effected the camp and mission structure. Even with that I really enjoyed the story and gameplay loop. |

Done all the menus and got majority of the trophies so considering it completed. Tremendous game, really enjoyed it other than a couple of questionable design decisions.

Was going to add after platinumming bust still got to get all the bonus eyeballs from the somniums, finish the tamagotchi and a few miscellaneous trophies. I think I have spent around 45 hours. Generally enjoyed it even if the musical numbers were a little over-frequent getting me many a raised eyebrow at what I was plating from the wife ... Generally enjoyed the story, characters and gameplay though. Finished all routes including the hidden one and the bonus somnium though. It managed to catch me out on a few things in the story.
May try to polish stuff off but tempted to jump into Shijima- Centennial Story, also tempted to play through FFVII Remake and DLC on Plus. Handheld I have started Chaos;Head despite the tales of translation quality. If I make it to 20 games this year I will be surprised bit I do have a long weekend for some game time coming up...

A brilliant sequel to a almost excellent first game (we will not talk about the ending chapters of that one) Great story telling and wonderful voice actors, especially Charlotte McBurney as Amicia. Lovely looking and wonderfully atmospheric world. The only real negative is the combat, much like the first game the slingshot aiming can be very hit and mostly miss, this becomes very apparent when you have a lot of enemies at once. Luckily this does not happen all too often. The soundtrack is also very impressive.

Incredible game and such good pay off to 1 and 2. Love a game with side quests that add so much to the overall world and story. Took me 85 hours to see the credits roll and a huge chunk of that was just doing side quests.
Very much looking forward to the expansion next year, have high hopes of it being as good as Torna was for 2.

Played through and mostly enjoyed what was a padded Midgar. Took about 45 hours I think with 60% of trophies. Graphically impressive and combat was fairly fun. Tried to 100% what I could in one playthrough too. The motorbike bits were annoying and cost the game some score though plot direction could go either way but need the sequel to see how it is (and to play Intermission). Played on PSPlus Premium. Will play Intermission next I imagine (as a .1 for my numbers). Also should have all Chaos;Head Noah routes finished soon after having done four.
Not going to he hitting 20 games this year....

Excellent game except for me getting stuck on some puzzles a few times. Also has the distinction of being the first actual PS5 game I have completed...it is ok I will make it up to the Xbox.

And done the DLC for FFVIIR. 13:28 with time taken for completing Fort Condor and the Shinra box challenge, 38% of trophies, not the bonus fights or hard mode basically. Story was reasonable and new gameplay style worked quite well for Yuffie. Higher marks than main game as no motorbikes....
Now to switch to a new console game. Also to polish off Chaos;Head.

Took me a while to get into it which was surprising but by the end, absolutely loved it. Sadly one of those games that pads it out with a stupid amount of collectibles but very pleased overall. Finished at approx 42 hours.
Still plugging away at Trails in the Sky 2, also got the Modern Warfare 2 campaign to finish and then think might go back to Resi 8...

Purely played the campaign and it was fun enough. Being as I am only a marvel film fan I was unimpressed that the Avengers did not look like the Avengers or sound like them, once I got over that I enjoyed. The money you could spend on outfits etc is obscene though, I had no interest in that side of the game.

Mostly bought this to play multiplayer but I also always play the campaign. Reviews of the campaign weren't great and...they're right, very dull by the numbers stuff and then they try to "innovate" as far as CoD would, its tired stuff from the PS3 era.
Anyway, done and off the backlog, bosh! Back to Trails in the Sky 2 which I'm about 45 hours into now.

It was ok, not a patch om Until Dawn though. Very short unless you want to replay, which I do not tend to do with interactive choice/drama style games. I actually enjoyed the parts of the story set in the late 1600's early 1700's Witch trials. The actor models looked a little "off" especially Taylor and Anne (and I didn't care about any of the characters, which didn't help!)
The monster models are good and the game does look nice and creepy (apart from previous mention actor models) it is also atmospheric. I have heard good things about the third game in the series, so will try when it comes to psextra or gamepass.
