I wonder when they'll get around to arresting him.
A lot of people think it'll kick off a civil war, but I've kind of come to the conclusion that there will be a few shootings, some scuffles and protests, but quite frankly the glassy eyed idiots are too pathetic to achieve anything approaching a "war".
I do however expect a lot of domestic terrorist plots being foiled by the FBI.

People suggesting it's treason and thus he will be executed are living in fantasy land. They will not execute an ex-President, the most former one no less, who has a cultish following of dare I say millitant followers. Not saying it would devolve into civil war, I think other Republican politicans and Trump supporters aren't going to take it that far. But I can see him being made into a martyr with a rise in domestic terror attacks from a large number of people who feel like they truly are being attacked by the enemy within and take it out on anyone they see is part of it. Hell Trump gave them a target in Obama today.

I always thought security risk implied it wasn’t the possession of such information wasn’t the issue. It is what is misuse or sharing could do. Say, and this is just a hypothetical situation, Trump had access to the U.S.’s software for generating official nuclear launch codes, hacking that would be something you wouldn’t want falling into a foreign powers hands, even an allies.

I expected it to be stuff like shit on other world leaders or politicians. But if it is information to do with their nuclear deterrent.. Why would anyone ever need that information? Specifically? Except to pass to other hostile governments. And the fact that he had to purposefully do this meant that, given his mental faculties, someone asked him to. So now the question is who?
The US govt must do something about this. They have to. He almost caused a political coup in the flag-bearer for global democracy. And now he is clearly intent on sharing some of the most sensitive information possible with countries who are against US interests. Surely now is the time to ignore party lines and realise that something has to be done. Surely.

I would assume that stuff like nuclear silo or submarine positions and other highly secret US nuclear info would be the most expensive thing on the planet. It's either bragging rights or he intended on selling them, but I would assume the former no matter how much I think he's a danger to the entire planet. He just hosted a Saudi golf tournament with all manner of high ranking, hugely wealthy delegates as guests. You can imagine how "impressed" they'd be when he trots those puppies out. I can imagine the Secret Service detail's eyes popping out of their heads as he paraded them around at dinner. Which is where the tip off came from. Or something. No knowing until/if it goes to trial. I'm not really all that worried about the nuclear stuff, not even trump is stupid enough to try and sell something that could spell the fiery end of the US. It's far more likely that the file on Macron was intended to be sold to Putin though. I wonder if they make handcuffs for little hands. |

The statutes the warrant was based on are concerned with removing and then retaining government documents. The classification status is irrelevant.
Also, many of the kinds of documents he’s meant to have kept from the feds, despite being told to return them, are under the purview of Congress. As in, the executive has no say on their classification status. Trump could call them Harry for all the different e it would make to the illegality of him keeping them.
He’s probably not going to prison. But he’s going to be arrested

So, in another twist, it seems I may have been incorrect in saying he won't go to prison, he himself bolstered a law regarding the keeping and improper storage of classified information in 2018 in his attempt to lock Hilary up. Everything he's done falls foul of that law.
If only he knew what irony was.
