The McDonalds that Trump "worked" at;
- Put up a notice saying it would be closed for the day for his visit. He didn't serve anyone inside because there were no customers. He just twatted around in the kitchen and appeared at the drive thru window for pre-arranged people.
- Is one of those ones where someone pays to license the name of the franchise, and the guy who owns that particular branch wrote a letter demanding that he should be allowed to pay workers less than minimum wage.
- Reportedly failed it's last health inspection for not having employees wash hands, among other things, which they also didn't make Captain Orange do.

It's all just noise though isn't it. People already deep in that culture will just use it to reaffirm their belief that he's one of them and the other side will just point out the sideshow that it is but all this stuff doesn't move the needle either way. I still wonder how bent the actual polls are.
The only thing I wonder is despite the fact that it's a franchisee owned outlet I wonder how pissed the McD HQ is.

There's just no getting through to these people.
According to the top article on CNN at the time of writing:
Hear that, ya bunch of woke snowflake liberal cucks? Trump's authentically senile/insane!
Forget shooting someone on Fifth Avenue - at this stage, Trump could shuffle onstage at a rally, experience complete rectal prolapse, strangle a puppy to death with his (tiny) bare hands, and spend the next three hours waxing lyrical about a dead golfer's enormous penis.
They'd STILL vote for him.
He could keel over dead, and his team could spend the rest of the campaign Weekend at Bernie's-ing him from photo op to photo op, all while rigor mortis set in and his bloated corpse slowly changed from burnt sienna to mottled grey.
They'd STILL vote for him.

I still wonder how bent the actual polls are. Was listening to the Quiet Riot podcast (which is great) from yesterday that touched upon the polling and how accurate it is likely to be. There is very little oversight on how the polling is conducted, but all the polls are rated. These ratings aren't taken into account on the aggregates, but you can find them if you look for them. One of the polling companies, that is clearly very partisan, is flooding the place with polls showing Trump with a big lead. They have a transparency rating of something like 3.3 out of 10 and it has 0 stars out of 3 on overall rating. Their clearly wrong predictions are getting chucked in with the other lot though. They also mentioned about turnout for the early voters, which supposedly some swing states are showing as having 15% turnout already. Unusually in this case, it is likely a big turnout will favour the incumbent party, so there are positive signs from lots of early voters. Still feel it really could go either way though and I expect to go sleep on 5th November in the knowledge that whoever looks in the lead at that time may not be the winner when I wake up the next day.

"He's so authentic, he's just as big a dip shit as me!" - Trump voters. That's the whole thing, isn't it. There's a large amount of people (not just in the US) that have felt angrier and angrier as the world slowly became more progressive and their beliefs were left further and further behind (with good reason usually, but bear with me). And then along comes Trump. He's crass, outspoken, has (had) some twisted charisma, and (outwardly) hates what they hate and likes what they like. He's "just like [them] fr fr", with one crucial difference: he is (or at least projects the image of being) rich, powerful, successful. He makes them believe that their backwards mindset is good, that it can succeed. He tells them everything they want to hear, and in doing so (and with a big apparatus of those who would benefit from his rule supporting him) legitimises and unites them. And what has this led to? A chunk of Americans having lost their filter and common sense, fanatically voting for their own detriment no matter what Trump says anymore (FFS he's straight up cursing them out in his rallies!*) because the "others" will eat shit too, and yet more people in other countries agreeing with them, and oligarchs and tyrants the world over licking their lips at the prospect of Trump 2.0/POTUS Vance wrecking America. The crazies of each village, that used to be mocked in the town square, have found each other, banded together and are striking back... And may whatever higher power is laughing at the absurdity help the rest of us if they win.

Another vote for QR here and yeah this was such a good point, which hasn't been made enough, meaning that a Harris win is underpriced imo - but also, it's setting the stage for disputing the result.

Isn't it also what the Democrats want though? They want to get as many of their voters as possible out the door, and the closer a Trump win looks, the more likely it is to worry people enough to go and vote. They've been worried about voter complacency.

Rather good LegalEagle video on what's at stake in this election and how it's not even a choice if you actually believe in the rule of law. Devin has never been hiding what he thinks of Trump in the past but this is on another level. I hadn't realised how old some of the laws are that Trump wants to use to get rid of millions of people.

Yeah, but on the other hand Kamala has a weird laugh. I just don't know, someone help me choose it's so hard I know we're joking but I'm still unsure as to how people can be undecided at this point. Trump has already been president. You know what he's about, what he stands for and what he delivered. It's also very weird to me that he's being sold as someone running for the first time. Is there some kind of collective amnesia going on?!

People being short sighted/narrow minded, only thinking which one might give them an immediate financial boost? People always vote for what’s good for them now. It’s a minority that would vote for something that makes things worse for them but better for the whole.

Are you sure that is a summary of his day at McDonalds and not his presidency? I mean it is light on all the various criminal activities but it still reads as an absolutely useless cunt.

Trump having a total normal one as ever. Sueing the Labour Party for election interference after Party members volunteered for Harris/Waltz. Obviously all bollocks and pure smoke and mirrors to sow more seeds but still stupid.

All over breakfast show and Radio 4 this morning despite it already being established it doesn’t constitute election interference and always been done. Someone really needs to get hold of their editorial policy.

Because no Tories have never helped out the Republicans :eyeroll: "Two UK Tory panjandrums - architects of the PM's surprise victory - flew to Washington eight weeks before the US election and advised the Bush team to focus attacks on Clinton's character." www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-50752217

I guess at this point it's just another cudgel to beat Labour with.
