Meanwhile, on the Democrat side of the fence, Biden is apparently showing more willingness to discuss his position than he's displaying in public.
Problem is, the longer he takes to come to terms with things, the less time a replacement will have in which to tackle a job that already looks borderline impossible.

I think we’re already beyond the point where it matters who the Dems throw at Trump. Even before the shooting he had all the momentum and now its a formality.

Probably by acting all tough and threatening everybody with nukes. As if. He'll just surrender everything to the bad/worse side of each war. Ukraine goes to Putin and he builds resorts in bombed-out Gaza like Kushner said. Remember, the cruelty is the point. Just like the states that just sued to not only block Biden's latest student debt relief but also other pre-existing programs at the same time. And unfortunately Biden's too soft to start throwing any SCOTUS-granted weight around, even if he drops out and no longer has to worry about his reelection, so they'll just keep playing chess while the GOP plays Operation with the USA's guts.

Sigh. Wrestlers...
If even Pelosi is urging him to quit in private, it does seem like he's getting increasingly isolated.
But then we're back to the same problem of who can replace him, especially at such short notice. If only there was a democrat wrestler...

simple Agreed. That said, I'd still like to see them try.
They may struggle to find a career politician who'd be willing to drink from the poisoned chalice, but there has to be someone who could be persuaded to give it a crack.
Fuck it - if all else fails, get down on your knees and beg Oprah to run! Her celebrity status matches Trump's, and she's certainly no less qualified to run the country than he is.

Part of me wouldn’t mind Biden conceding to Trump now and saving us all 100 days of failure.

Anyone running besides Harris wouldn't have easy access to the war chest raised so far, and skipping her (as unpopular as she's supposed to be) would look bad in various ways. If he's replaced, it's most likely Harris/someone.
Preferably someone popular in swing states and with a dick that points to women, because I'm not sure America is ready to elect two women or a woman and a gay guy (I felt kind of icky writing that but that's their reality at the moment...)

I'm not American, but if they want me to do it then I'll give it a go. I usually have a week annual leave over their election anyway so I'm free.

I think we’re already beyond the point where it matters who the Dems throw at Trump. Even before the shooting he had all the momentum and now its a formality. I'm not so sure. Maybe it's just me trying to remain positive, but Trump didn't get the boost you'd expect after surviving a shooting, the RNC doesn't seem to have done him many favours either, abortion is on the ballot, JD Vance('s wife) is causing uproars even among MAGAts, the crazy from the right is amping up and there's at least a couple Democrats that poll better than Biden against Trump without the campaign machine and/or the enthusiasm of replacing Biden behind them. There are paths for the Dems to win this. The problem is a) will they manage to walk them and b) will SCOTUS not manage to turn it into 2000 2.0...

Harris vs Trump (and also Biden vs trump) seem very variable depending on the poll and the polling company.

Ya know, maybe I don't want to listen to Truss talking passionately about her showerhead with dinner tonight. Yeah, I don't think I do. Mhmm.

Can a bell-shaped shower head double as a butt plug?

Can a bell-shaped shower head double as a butt plug? Only if you’re a massive arse like Truss

Keep the phone handy and prepare the excuses 'cause it's not coming back out unaided. Much like extreme rightwing thought.

Can a bell-shaped shower head double as a butt plug? Aaand you made it worse. Or, you know, better. Depending on who you ask.

Does Truss believe all this shit now or is it pure grift. I genuinely can’t tell. It’s gone a bit Poe’s law with her

She's been pretty nuts for ages ("pork markets" and "that is a disgrace!" were indicators) but it got worse once she was somehow given the top job.
As for the shower head question, Truss's head is currently occupying her arse so there's no room for improvised butt plugs.

She's always been like this. She's a really, really shit Johnson in that she'll adopt whatever position benefits her at that moment in time, but she lacks sincerity, credibility, charisma, likability, competence and being a normal fucking person. Boris had like 1, maybe 1 and a half of those and only made it stick for a bit and largely on "getting rid of" a single issue that everyone was utterly sick of.

Now, I’ve never been to Tennessee, but I do have in my possession, a replica of a toilet that an Elvis impersonator takes his morning shit in, and I will proudly have this installed in my own home, so that I might have my own shits in it
